Here is the 2023 Cc hits post, if you get a hit post in here should be happening anytime now.

You might need to try another brand. To be effective with the sheet canopy, your angle is probably only around 90 degrees. You need to find a brand that gets you in the 170 degree range. :D

No units had increases, the WB shut down any tag increases that the division submitted. Tags was either kept the same, or decreased in the hard hit areas up north.
 
Since it looks like we will be anxiously waiting at least another day or 2, how many are legitimately expecting to draw this year? I’m hopeful to get a south cache muzzy elk tag and muzzy deer, hoping 20 points does the trick this year! In theory it should but you never know who jumps!
 
Fingers crossed that 3 points will get a couple family members a general season muzzy deer tag on pine valley this fall. This is getting bad. Not a single general deer tag last year in my family or friends. Never set foot on our deer hunting stomping grounds last year.?

Everything else is a long shot in random draw.

I feel confident about GS rifle deer tags. That’s it. 20 points for deer and 21 for moose isn’t going to cut it.

Same here. Should pull an antelope tag unless someone pool hops or more than just me puts in with same number of points as I have.

Oh, and I think I deserve the one random San Juan bull muzzy tag :devilish:

I put in with 21 elk and 19 mountain goat points. For elk, I have no idea where the masses are going to migrate with all the new changes. I'm guessing the movement won't improve my draw odds. For mountain goats, I'm on the cusp of drawing. I am also a 2nd year dedicated hunter. Since I took a buck my first year, I'll be picky this year. I almost always do general season OTC archery elk.

My ultimate goal is to focus on my 12 year old daughter and her adventures. I think she will pull a muzzleloader deer tag in Utah and we will get her a general season elk permit. I don't think she will draw a deer tag in Colorado with all the cuts in the NW units. I plan to buy her points in Wyoming for deer, elk, and antelope.
 
I feel confident every year. Hasn’t worked so far but I just have a feeling that Utah is gonna be my random win sooner rather than later.
 
Damn it, you got to love the people that feel the need to fake it. That one looked legit when I posted it....

I will put myself in the corner of shame, my bad.

And I'm expecting a hit for LE archery elk for me and my dad. Part of the reason I jumped the gun, I'm actually looking forward to it this year. Lol

I'll get an archery elk tag over the counter. I doubt I'll draw the le elk tag I put in for. Pretty confident I'll draw GS archery deer since I put in for crappy units just so I get a tag and can hunt the extended.

Not sure...thought spike/forks was a genetic thing? Wouldn't you want 1 year old deer to have at least forks on both sides? I'm not a biologist but I think spike/forks would be the stepchildren to better genetics. is that the wrong thought process in your opinion?

That’s a common misconception that has been disproven. While genetics may be the issue, it’s much more commonly linked to nutrition.

The best big buck draw units in my state have been severely impacted by two point only otc tags. One of them used to be a top 10 all time county for B&C non typical bucks but not no mo.

We also hunted PV in 2020, two 4 point bucks and ate one tag.

Isnt that the truth..I hunted up there last year and didn't see squat..lots of elk. Me and my boy had PV last year. Checked the spots you and I messaged about, hunted hard and killed the only 4 point we saw during the hunt. Pretty awesome looking country, just very few animals in it!

I have hunted the Utah Spike Hunt, Four point or better for deer in Wyoming, Colorado elk with point restrictions and I have yet to come across a ground checked animal.

I don't care if you like it as a management tool or not, but it seems to get used without much of a problem. I get that 30 years ago some Basinite Hillbilly dumped a couple two points in the Book Cliffs with his Tasco rifle scope while jacked up on mountain dew. I would just think we could get past that.

Like I said, anecdotal, and striaght from the supervising game warden and head forester after the rifle deer hunts were over the year it was implemented.

We aren't talking about WY, UT, or CO in the state I'm from. We're talking about the northern NM's from the little "villages" that can't control themselves...

In the other thread I think someone pointed out that as long as this link is still valid to update your cc, the draw has not happened: https://www.utah-hunt.com/UDWRCcUpdate_M/

I believe they said once the cc update link goes dead - cards start getting hit the next business day? So, best case card hits tomorrow...if the link goes down today?

But maybe the later app dates are having an effect and it will literally be late May for results??

It's the lady that is over the draw, (lindy? I think)
She said right in the WB Meeting that she would not post results unit the May 31st. My guess is that, Unfortunately, CC hits won't start until a week from now.

I don't realy know why she is being so crabby about it. But she needs to remember she works for us and not the other way around.
 
She did not get laid the night before she said that.
Either take funds from us upfront and do something good with it while we wait, or, use todays super fast super amazing computers and kick out the results already.
It’s not like they even need a team anymore to enter data from a paper copy on to the dang computer.
We’ve already completed the data entry for them!
The State should not get it both ways.

They are told to say what the draw result s post day is .. they won't give anything more..
As far as believing what you heard I even ask if there's any truth to the charge card being turn off when hit start and was told its alway on..?? Even as cards data base begins hits.
So believe what others say the real word is that email, credit card hit!!

I was thinking the same thing now that I remember Director Shirley reiterating her stance in his comments at the WB meeting. It does drag our the anticipation a little longer.

If they wanted they could do the draws right now and post results in a couple days. I think they are intentionally holding back. If it doesn't happen today then I think it won't happen until the end of next week.
 
The Karen in charge of the draw was pretty snarky saying nothing until the 31st in the board meeting video. I wouldnt expect anything sooner. Utah would do well to move that rage pig along, she shouldn't be in public service.

Lindy is great and she does everything she can to expedite the results, but she didn't want to set expectations that couldn't be guaranteed, especially with the later start this year. Better to underpromise and overdeliver than the other way around.

If these delays that Bess are referring to are true, that's exactly why she didn't want to promise anything sooner. Perfect risk mitigation if you ask me.
