Here's my tomato plant. I used Fox Farms Ocean Forest potting soil, the choice of serious growers in the Emerald Triangle. It's made locally.

OCEAN FOREST® POTTING SOIL - GOOD THINGS FROM THE EARTH AND SEA!

Our most popular potting soil, Ocean Forest® is a powerhouse blend of aged forest products, sphagnum peat moss, earthworm castings, fish meal and crab meal. Aged forest products and sphagnum peat moss give Ocean Forest® its light, aerated texture. Start with Ocean Forest® and watch your plants come alive! Garden tip: Designed for containers and ready to use right out of the bag.

It's in God's hands now.

Peat Moss can cause soil to be too acidic for some plants but tomatoes love it. I added Peat Moss for 2 years to my garden and then some raised bed soil the 3rd year. This year I added all my accumulated Compost from 2 years of lawn clippings, leaves and such. The rototilling was a breeze so the soil doesn't have a clay problem.
We used Chicken Manure to fertilize also. If the weather stays warm enough I may have abundant Green Peppers and Jalapeños.
The raised bed soil I bought last year had forest products. I forgot to add that we save our egg shells and after pulverized them in the Ninja Blender we add that too.

To hell with the Ocean Forest…… I can see the growth expectations from the height of that metal support gizmo.
If...a big if...the sun comes out this summer it will make it to the top. I planted it 4 days ago and no visible sun yet. Hense the 45% chance I'll get a tomato.

I had a real nice strawberry patch growing great. We just started picking a few strawberries....until last night.

At least the deer didn't get my zucchini plant in the top right.
Not sure if you’ll get strawberries that taste like garlic or garlic that tastes like strawberry……..

I've heard that it works. Maybe next year if all goes well.:) I should have built a deer proof fence around the yard when I first moved here. The bears and raccoons would just climb over it though, or tear it down.
