ACLU would have been on it if that person was a Democrat protester being held in a jail that was controlled by a conservative sheriff. My opinion of the ACLU is not very good based on prior experience with that bunch of liberal lawyers.

ACLU would have been all over this had he been anyone else, just as MAGA will take up his cause but ignore others. Both are hypocrites. There was a time when all good conservatives would push for harsher penalties. Dude's been convicted of, and pled guilty to, assault against women on three different occasions prior to Jan 6.
