Another elk unit question, easiest terrain?

I'm not asking for spots or anything else, but.... for a veteran suffering from some COPD brought on by breathing that crap over there and totally accepting the fact that I'm not going to be running up and down any mountains, what is the best LE unit terrain-wise for somebody to have a decent chance at a decent bull? I know some units are rougher and steeper than others, so I'm just asking about overall units.

I don't have dreams of a smasher bull, but would like to have at least an honest chance at a mid-range representative bull for the area. I'm not afraid to walk, just can't go on like I would've a few years back, as far or as fast.

I wasn't even going to bother applying any more, but at the last minute decided I can't just walk away without at least trying.

For what it's worth, I think I have 17 points right now.

I agree. I'm in my late 70's and hunted SW Desert for elk last year. Where I hunted it was pretty flat with smaller hills and easy to get around.

Thanks for the help everybody!

I thought long and hard about it all day. A few minutes ago I just put in for a point instead of a tag. I really need to decide if I can still do this, especially after I'd shoot something and the work really begins.

I figured for $10 I'd stay in the game and move up a step next year if I decide to try it then (I looked when I signed in, I only had 16 points, I'll have 17 now).

I appreciate the info that was passed along, I'll keep it in mind for next year. 👌 👍

@ColdBore if you want to put in for a Wasatch tag, consider any bull you kill packed out. I’ll handle anything after the shot, any season.

If you wanna talk guided hunt I’m available for the rest of the evening.

Even so, I’d pack a bull for a Vet no questions asked.

Thanks brother. Too late now, but I'll definitely keep you in mind for next year. And I'll happily pay you, just because you made the offer. I only mentioned the veteran thing to explain the background of my breathing issues. I don't expect anything for it, I signed up voluntarily and have zero regrets. It was a great ride!
