Wyoming Region K

Anyone willing to share some areas to hunt on Region K for Mule Deer? I have hunted Region G and know it a little, I picked Region k to have the option to hunt low lands with more rolling hills and lots of small canyons.

There's plenty of BLM, State and some Forest to hunt just wondering what areas would be best if you want to share, I've hunted Wyoming before for Antelope and deer and the private and hunting pressure isn't as you advertise just haven't hunted Region K and looking at ON X MAPS theres plenty area to hunt that's not private

You will still want the Bear River Divide HMA which is unlimited. Carter creek canyons can hold some better bucks and generally fewer people if you go into the steep stuff. Backside of the butte holds the best bucks in the aspen groves but you need the medicine butte HMA to access the best of it. There is still enough to hunt back there with the BRD HMA. If you come out with a 120" 4 point you are doing pretty good. Also watch out for the game warden. He is a c***sucker and everyone knows it. Always had good game warden experiences until a few run ins with him. It will be a sea of orange no doubt with a bunch of barely legal bucks getting killed. I live just miles from this hunting area and stopped hunting it because of the game warden and fighting to get a meat buck in the freezer. Good luck but don't have high expectations.

Elkrazy01 can you use a Street Legal ATV on the Bear River Divide HMA most of its BLM but the rules says no ATVs it doesn't restrict street legal so its a little confusing....

I hunted this unit a couple of years ago, the year after the big winter kill. my opinion of the unit is there are too many roads and plenty of hunters as has been already mentioned. However after 6 days of hunting my buddy lucked into a decent 24 inch 4 point. Which was the best we saw in all of our time there. Good luck and hopefully you can find something you want! I am sure there are few around.

Look, Region K you need private access. Public sucks. Dont waste your time. If you have a decent job you can work for $25 per hour. Work 4 Saturdays in April for 10 hours each. That's $1000 and you get on a decent property for that. Otherwise waste $1500 in gas and food and wandering around having a horrible trip. Too far to drive for that. Too hard to get a year or season back. Do it right and participate on here a bit more if ya want some better info.

If you were intelligent you would realize that you can search for info which there is no info on K if you want to try and look. Obviously you were conceived through anal sex since I don't know anyone that can be as much of an ##### as you are? There?s plenty of public ground and I'm sure the 3 190? bucks I'm sitting on will be there opening morning since Wyoming wanna be hunters sit in the vehicle and look at all the bucks that Utards are shooting out from under you.

Remember in 2005 you asked about the same reason as I did but for Region H ?

Region K took a beating last winter. I live right here by it and I have a moose tag out there. I have spent almost every day off I've had scouting since the day I found out that I drew and haven't seen a deer worth getting excited over. I dont know if I have bad luck this year or what and I hate hearing people say there are no deer because 9 times out of 10 they don't put any time in, but with the scouting/hunting I've been doing I haven't seen more than 20 bucks in 4 months. Again I might just have bad luck and have just missed seeing them every day but that hasn't been the case in the past. Good luck I hope it works out better for you. ps if you have 3 190 bucks I definitely wouldn't be worried about getting info. sounds like you have it figured out.

Not sure where all the people are we haven't seen a person in 2 days and the road is horrible maybe they will all be wheeling in on Tuesday and walking into where we will be! ATV access on BLM land that meets the Forest on the East side and locals said the winter wasn?t as bad where we are compared to the Western end of K. We are seeing a lot of bucks mostly 3 points but 3 bigger ones hanging next to a walk in unit. We spent some time in the Northern part of K and didn't see a lot of deer a few 20-24? 3x3 and 3x4 bucks, so we decided to hunt more southern and Eastern.

Nope we didn't see any deer and there was a sea of orange so we went home?never hunting Wyoming again and I will tell everyone how terrible it is also?

How can I find private land access in region k for a reasonable price?
