    Leftover success!

I had already scheduled my vacation during first rifle season, figuring I would have a decent shot at a returned tag, and this afternoon I got mine! Certainly not a coveted tag but has been slim Pickens until today. But being only a month out I was getting a little worried. But all for naught...

    Mature bulls help population

So in Colorado the CPW has stated on record that they are growing the herd in SW Co by slaughtering the heck out of bulls (they estimate 13/100 before this is done) and drastically lowering the cow tags. Elk 101 in the new Bugle magazine shows a study in Oregon that indicates that having fewer...

    More lenient tag return policy

This year if you state Covid as your reason, you can return your tag up to 15 days before the season starts and get a refund AND your points back There was so much uncertainty when we applied. There still is. To add point restoration to the mix is a good and bold move by CPW. I applaud them.

    Ebike: finally pulled the trigger!

Did a lot of research on Hunting Ebikes with a $2500 budget in mind. Looked at the Radrovers in the $1500 range but, although well built and priced, they only offer a rear Hub motor: good for all but steep hills. Also looked at the MS2 Ultra. Prob the most powerful bike I researched and well...

    CO leftover watch app defunct?

This year I would be interested in an app like this as I am too busy to refresh all day/week. But the website seems dead and states the online name has expired. Anyone know if this will be back up this year? Or if not a good alternative?

    Tick tock Christmas in June

I only apply for Colorado and Utah, and Utah is always a long shot, so anticipation for the Colorado drawing is the closest thing to Christmas I have! Applied for 3 tags and should get 2 but ya never know! 🤪 In southwest Colorado at the moment and seeing a fair amount of elk but no calves yet...

Clear messages in red at top of page?

Since the new look on here it shows I have 698 messages in a small red number at the top of the forums page. When I read one it reduces that number by one. Is there a way to clear that to zero without clicking on every message and without erasing messages?

Editing an application Costs the app fee

Decided today to edit an app I had already put in for this year. Was fast and easy, but it costs $9 (NR price) to do that. I guess that is fair, but was surprised it would cost to change an existing already paid for app. The computer does it anyway and the draw hasn't started yet.....

CWD to other species: another angle?

I have been in discussions about whether or not CWD might ever cross into humans, and of course the jury is still out. However, I have bought a bear tag for the first time this year for Colorado, and it got me thinking: If it ever does cross to other species, might it first be to the...
