    Kiling off Idahos deer!

Hopefully they can speed up the testing turnaround. It was a full month in December when we got results last fall. I had Colorado deer tested in 2005, 3 days to get results. deer and elk up salmon river are pretty spread out in that big country.

    Kiling off Idahos deer!

The gray shaded areas aren’t full of CWD!, the point I was making is there’s no way nose to nose contacted spread from Montana to Slate Creek. I agree there is so much that is unknown about how this spreads. Wisconsin kills more deer with cars than most western states do with guns. Eradicate in...

    Kiling off Idahos deer!

CWD is on WY and MT boarder, how does it show up in slate cr? Is there a swath of cwd across the the gospel hump, selway, and frank church? If it wasn’t a game farm, was it an infected carcass, a ranch illegally bring in a deer to add genetics to their property? I don’t see the natural...

    Fingers Crossed for the Deer

I see a lot of valley county plates down there! They’re hauling wood back up the mountain. They love that red fir in McCall. That fire last summer probably burned some tamarack on there side of the mountain so, might not have as much competition this spring

    Fingers Crossed for the Deer

Looks like there’s some pretty big gaps, SE &SW corners are going to have winter kill panhandle still under on snow depth. Still time left but it doesn’t look like statewide mortality like 2017

    Kodiak goat hunt

Regulatory year instead of calendar year. So, I could go back in fall but then I wouldn’t be eligible in spring if I harvested, correct? You couldn’t shoot 4 in back to back years? I’m pretty savvy on western regs, Alaska has a lot things no one else has!

Back again same time same place. Fat boy dropped 30lbs we had much better hunt! We ditched the hilleberg tent and low profile cots for cabelas 8-man guide tent and full size cots. Only rained couple days, more snow than last year. Saw one brown bear and quite a few deer. Two Billy’s and a Nanny.

How bad does it have to get

F&G has management objectives, you would need to change those before implementing your herd building plan. Never heard of game agency that operates with those restrictions. Bottom line is you want to limit harvest and eliminate antlerless hunting, and increase mature buck populations. Game...

    Good ole Idaho

Those tag numbers merely represent Idaho desire to manage predators. I always buy 2 wolf tags. Double punch is the only ethical shot to take on wolves. Instead of posting tag numbers how about hunting license numbers probably not as shocking?

    Good ole Idaho

Could probably look at 40,41,42 general season hunter numbers and get a idea of how much added pressure would end up in 39 if they did make those southern units all draw. Putting all those hunters close to home takes a lot of pressure of rest of state. Yeah population is booming but hunting...

    Good ole Idaho

Waited 2 hours at Walmart, left dumped my garbage truck and hit a different vendor on way back to my route no wait and no issue getting my daughter a tag at noon. Pretty sure this debacle will force some change. Can’t have 30,000 plus customers pissed off at once and not get some blow back.

Tick tock when will the draws post

Every meeting they have doesn’t start with crop damage, every project, every survey, every management plan, every budget doesn’t revolve around farmers and ranchers. Things could better here and they could be a lot worse! Credit were credit is due. It’s a forum criticism is Inevitable and to be...

Tick tock when will the draws post

Really farm/ranch issues is only thing F&G worries about? You sound ignorant when you make statements like that over and over. We get it you don’t like the influence they have in the department. RMEF had article years ago stating that Utah could have same number of elk as Colorado based on there...

    FIRE AROUND FLAGSTAFF

I used to live in timberline subdivision, foothills burned and house flooded after I moved in 2006. I miss 300 days of Sun a year and clear clean air. My wife hated the wind. Mt. Elden burned before I moved there in 1998 I always wondered what that fire must have looked like from Route 66. Flag...

License Distribution/Preference Points Focus Group For Future Seasons

Why stick with points at all? The way population growth in the west is trending and the fact that there are no secret spots left in the west. I say 90-10 knowing full well there will be tags leftover, let residents and nonresidents pick them up until there sold out. Not a big deal every state gives there residents preference. The $$ will be there demand is not going anywhere.

    Points System

Absolutely the Ponzi schemes generate $$ for game and fish depts. But P&M comes from guns, ammo, etc…. Not hunting Licenses AZ has 7.2 million people they sell a hell of a lot more 9mm and shotgun shell than Idahos 1.7 million

    Idaho Spot and Stalk Bear

Interesting I always bait off and above road so I can get the bear out whole by myself. If i shoot one before dark, drive to cell service, wait for help, pack it out it’s 1am before I get home. I go up a closed road and across a creek. Not sure if hound hunters have ever been across my site...
