co mule deer 3rd or 4th season??

I appreciate all the response and quality input... I have decided to try my luck at the third season tag. After a bunch of thought my reasons for going third are. 1. larger percentage of lower elevation ground I'm able to hunt. 2. Terrain in this unit makes it much easier to glass lots of...

    OTC Co elk

My group and I have hunted the same otc unit for the last 3 years.. we always find elk and it’s almost always a different spot than the year before... the biggest factor in success I believe is the amount of time you get to hunt.. most animals we kill on otc tags are on days 5 to 9 of the hunt

    Co unit 40 Hunt!

I’d agree with you 100 percent. I’ve never hunted in 61 but have spent lots of time scouting there for shed hunting. We found way better bulls in 40 but to kill them you best lace up the boots because you arnt gonna kill one from the truck

Let them grow or take them?

I believe if you pass or shoot a deer is completely up to the tag holder. Every hunt and every deer means something different to every person. Everyone likes big deer but not everyone is a big deer Hunter. For me on a general tag that deer better duck, on a limited draw tag I’d pass him

co mule deer 3rd or 4th season??

Well honestly I believe both hold equal amount.. one area is mostly oak brush and large timber but lots of access.. the other is cedar sage country with access but can be limited at times... very torn as both have ups and downs

co mule deer 3rd or 4th season??

I wish I had a good answer to that question... the days of quality deer here in co are numbered. Just trying to have my chance before it’s gone

co mule deer 3rd or 4th season??

with the 2021 draws nearby i'm sure we are all thinking about whats to come.. If you follow colorado you know in 2021 the season dates will be later then they have ever been for rifle hunters. I'm sitting on a few points and cant decide between a 3rd season tag or a 4th season tag.. I have about...

    7west semi live

Update: Thursday morning we located a good group of elk with a nice bull. I stayed back and guided my buddy in while the elk fed in the timber. He got a shot but his arrow found a limb before it found the bull. Thursday night we located a group of 5 bulls on a north slope. One ok 5 point...

    7west semi live

Update: Tuesday morning we located a bull that earned a stalk, he was hanging with another up in some steep north facing country. The bulls didn’t bed tell near 1230 in the afternoon. Once on the stalk the lava rock and dry ground made it obvious getting close was gonna be hard. My buddy snuck...

    7west semi live

Update: Sunday morning was spent moving camp closer to the area we’ve found elk. Mid day water searching turned up nothing. Sunday evening we located more cows and one small bull. Monday morning elk activity was slower with only one bull and one cow. Was noticeably warmer earlier in the day. Did...

    7west semi live

UPDATE: (Saturday night) spent mid day trying to locate water in the cedar flats of the unit with no luck, even the man made steel water catches with storage are dry. Spent the evening hours behind the glass and turned up 4 bulls and 5 cows. Only one bull was with cows and in a different area so...

    7west semi live

Arrived at camp around midnight and got things setup, woke with the sun and spend most of Friday morning on the sxs pulling trail cams and glassing the larger mountains in the area. Very very little elk sign up high in the ponderosas and large burns. Friday night we headed to lower elevation and...

    Az 7w any success?

Anyone find success in unit 7w during the early archery hunt? How are the bulls looking this year? Headed out with a buddy for the late archery tag come weeks end. Any bull over 300 better duck! I know 7w holds some big bulls at times but we have never hunted the area and don't know the patterns...

    2020 season!

Well with most the hunts behind us my party will be living well with full freezers through the winter ( still have an Arizona bull tag up our sleeves) all but the big bull were killed on 2nd choice or otc tags. Hope everyone else had success!

The elk in the video were split about 50/50 on public and private..We were only hunting public and had no private we could hunt

    Co unit 40 Hunt!

Jerry I've been in 61 a bit from what I've seen and most would agree is that unit 40 holds more bulls over 350.. however 61 holds a larger number of elk and has wayyyy more public ground. second season rifle i might opt for 61 if it was a rut hunt i'd go 40

We saw some good bucks but nothing great...would have passed them with how long it takes to get a buck tag up there

    Co unit 40 Hunt!

These videos were taken on the last three days of muzzleloader season in unit 40. It was a an unreal experience to have so many big bulls around. A large amount of elk are on the border of public and private and all the water was on private so hunting was still tough even with a large amount of...
