I'm still shocked. I checked the tag 262 times to make sure I was reading it correctly. ?

No, I snagged the resident archery tag. ? The guy who got the NR rifle tag contacted me about helping him with the area.

Too late to cry over spilt milk. I guess i'll go ahead and spill the beans for that NR that pulled the 262 gem. ??‍♂️

I've yet to see any fcfs tags and while I don't check as often as most, I've yet to see a single one. I mean who in there right mind turns in a 262 bull rifle tag. ? Must have been a medical emergency or something.

I'm a little shocked that such a limited tag that's only for residents was awarded to a non resident on fcfs. I'm sure there are literally thousands of residents that would have loved that tag. Hopefully the guy had at least a few points. I'm definately happy about the proposed change for next...

I'm happy as hell to report success on my first Bull Elk hunt. What a remarkable experience. I harvested this stud bull on day 2. This was a DIY public land hunt and I spent 23 days scouting. I saw 18 bulls total. Good luck to everyone out there still. ?

Took this shot last August, my brother pulled the tag this year. ?

Spot and stalk is really the only way and it's hard AF? just get to high ground before light and find some deer. After you find them, you have to watch them until they bed. Sometimes they move too far and with the open country it's hard to stay on top of them.

262 archery bull ?

Most of the deer are above 7000' and the bigger ones probably on the top ?

This area is tough. Last year I hit the desatoya range and only saw a few. I know people have seen nice ones in there though. I saw more in the clan alpines which has Mt. Augusta. I'm probably gonna start there.

I didn't yet. I spent a day in the desatoya range and saw a few doe's and no bucks then spent a couple days around the clan alpines and found a few small bucks. I had a forky at 63 yards but decided to hold off. Im gonna head back up in a week or two and give it another go.
