Which tag? A26 bass hill bow or a9(x5b) bow?

140+ daily? ha ha. Honestly, in X5B, I think with if you do your preseason shooting-religiously, do the at home research, scout the unit, and hunt the unit for as many days as it takes during the season, you'll shoot a Pope And Young Mule deer or at least have so much fun you'll never forget...

Which tag? A26 bass hill bow or a9(x5b) bow?

I did the X5B archery hunt a few years back and it was one of my favorite bow hunts in my lifetime. I've been bow hunting since 1975. Have hunted most every western USA state, including Hawaii. Add New Zealand and Northern Quebec to that list too. A few factors that help, the hunt is close to...

Archery Antelope across the border in 015 Nevada

When I had the X5B deer tag I chose not to camp at Ramhorn because it is pretty busy with all manner of folks. So, my delimma was to find a camp spot near where I wanted to hunt. That camp spot had to have a tree if I wanted my wife to go too. Which I did. Harder to find a good camp spot in...

Archery Antelope across the border in 015 Nevada

Looking at the photo pretty easy to assess that buck as "TOP END"!!!! Really an amazing buck. Some great memories stored away from that hunt for sure. I am headed out to 015 in a couple of weeks. Will be interested in seeing water conditions.

Archery Antelope across the border in 015 Nevada

I posted this on the Nevada forum too. Monster Muley members have been very good to me for many years. Fearing I may be going to the well once too often I'm still going to seek your help. I drew an archery Antelope tag for Unit 015. I've been trying to get the tag for a few years, (I had 15...

Monster Muley members have been very good to me for many years. Fearing I may be going to the well once too often I'm still going to seek your help. I drew an archery Antelope tag for Unit 015. I've been trying to get the tag for a few years, (I had 15 preference points), because I hunted mule...

    Nevada archery antelope- 032, 034

I had that tag a few years back and can help. Going to be off the grid for a week but can talk with you by June 10th. Best if we talk with a map available, so pm me your phone # and the best time to call. I would have a couple of ground blinds to use and a scout trip planned to set them well...

    Sheldon, NV, 033

Thanks. I look forward to your reply. I am getting some feedback, like yours, that says the roads are not all closed, as I was originally told. I am thinking those comments came from when Sheldon closed the roads temporarily due to wildfire fires.

Yea, Yellow Peak should be good. That area is in the closed hunting zone. Can't believe it wasn't covered in Antelope. Water locations and Cats are probably relocating where groups are hanging out.

Thank you. What do you know about road access off the main roads? The Refuge Map from the USFWS doesn't show much access.

    Sheldon, NV, 033

Would have to refer to a thread many years ago about the Sheldon National Antelope Refuge where NVdrhntr wrote that even with the decline of deer numbers there, when it comes time to fill out the application, the Sheldon slips into one of the 5 choices. That is exactly what happened to me this...

    A9 X5B archery tag.

Pretty swamped with "to do" since I got back from this hunt. Will write about it asap since you helped so much with advice on the unit. Mike is right, it is a tough hunt. But, the rewards are compounded because you work so hard at it. Open country mule deer archery hunts are #1 in my book.

    A9 X5B archery tag.

Might need more help from those of you who know X5B. Have done two scout trips thus far. Lots of areas I knew were good 13 years ago have since burnt up and the feed has been replaced with cheatgrass, and Miner’s Lettuce. Fields of non edible stuff. Springs like Juniper Jim, Cottonwood, and...

    A9 X5B archery tag.

Sambo, Love the photo of your sheep. I shot a Desert Bighorn with my bow in the East Chocolate Mts of California in 1995. I lost that mount to the Camp Fire Nov. 8th 2018 Paradise, CA. Lost all my mounts. Lost everything I possessed in that fire. How do I retrieve a PM on this site?

    A9 X5B archery tag.

The rifle antelope season starts a week later now compared to 12 years ago so the opening archery deer season may not be too crowded at Ramhorn. 12 years ago the campground was FULL.

    A9 X5B archery tag.

I drew an A9 X5B archery tag. I had 12 points. I drew this tag 13 years ago and only hunted a few days because I had an archery tag in Nevada also. I like the high desert. I am 71 years old and have lost way more than a step. I shoot a compound, but still with fingers. A lot has happened in X5B...

need your elk packed out this season?

Nate, Good to see your thread. Am very interested in your contact information. I have a 6A archery bull elk tag for this season. Have been doing "at home" research for two months. Since I hunt solo, at 65 years old, have avoided looking closely at the most remote and nasty looking areas...

    Unit 21 Roads

Have done lots of research from the computer and phone here in NORTHERN California. Just from what I've gathered, if you are camping with a buddy who is hunting Unit 22, then your choice is easy. Hunt the SWA Sq S Ranch. Area holds deer and elk.
