I'm just curious, If you get drawn for a limited tag for Deer or Elk can you still hunt the General season first if it's earlier and if you tag out just not hunt the limited tag or are you restricted to only hunting with the limited tag?

This question is probably more toward the resident hunters that hunt region G. What do you guys use to hunt G every year? Horses and pack in or camp at trailheads and do day trips or do you back pack in walking or camp and do day trips with a pack on? Opening weekend or later with less crowds?

This was the worst season for deer in 62 that I have ever seen. I hunted for a week second season for deer and Elk in the Brushy and Snipe area and never saw a buck. That has always been a good deer area for me. i did see Elk where I have never seen then and had 2 chances on bulls with no luck...

This is my oops Buck from Region G. The velvet flapping on the antlers made him look bigger with kickers and he was also only a 4x3. He did measure 29/3/4 inches outside spread and was quite old with only 2 teeth left. Pretty cool buck and he is still going on the wall !

Leaving Thursday morning and heading up for the Elk opener this Saturday. Any last minute words of wisdom, advice or sarcasm before I leave?

Any Feedback on how the Elk Hunting is going in 76 so far? I have the first season rifle tag. Scouted and picked out a few camp spots over labor day and definitely upped my cardio workouts after seeing that country!
