No doubt, I’d just like to stay a bit closer to home on short notice. I went 8 hours on 7 days notice the last time to a new area. Found a lot of high scoring bucks but come opening day, I settled due to time constraints. I’m not even eligible, just getting the wife a tag.

Pretty sure any buck is legal…… Murphy wash is popular. Goto west side of the mountain. Lots of water. All else fails, hunt the fields and hope they don’t go into Utah when they jump the fence (west).

I think they should offer Native Nevadan tags. Allocate 25% of tags available to people born in Nevada.

You know what's more frustrating than waiting for a tag? New fish signing up on the forum and immediately asking for help. Then after that, helping someone out and then they never come back to even tell you how they did.

Ive never seen lions, but I know they are around. I've found lion and bobcat tracks in the snow in between times we hiked (no tracks on the way up, tracks on the way down). I have watched a pack of coyotes go after Antelope.

Cut a ton of tags because deer numbers have plummeted. It'll be nicer with less hunters for sure, but it still won't be great. Just like 13, they cut the tags drastically (85% or so since 2020) and it still is a tough hunt and that area has more water year round than 22 does by far.

Those Elk go where ever they please. I've watched them move from 6000' to 10,000' in a morning and vice versa. No rhyme or reason for where thye are at. Most of the time, they are at both ends of the spectrum and in between. But keep hunting down low. I'll gladly hike in.

What's Antelope country though? I've seen Antelope at 4,000 feet in the flats and I've seen Antelope in wooded areas at 8500 feet. Seems like all the big game species have a wide range of what is acceptable habitat.

@3TOE FCFS starts 14 BUSINESS days (not 2 weeks) prior to the start of a hunt. 262 Elk starts Sept. 17th so the tags will automatically goto FCFS if turned in August 30th or LATER.
