Currently hunting 2nd season. Seeing deer but nothing of size yet. Hmu in a few days maybe ill have some better intel

Hunting deer 68/681 currently. Finding some Deer but a lot doe and very small bucks. Is higher or lower better?. We hunted high (10500-11k) for a day but didnt turn up a deer. Today we been hunting 8500-9k turned up deer but mainly doe.

after 5 years i was able to go on the missouri river up here in SD...low water levels made quanity not good. Recent rains have helped those who have been able to make it out.

I had 5 in the hat + the application. I think we could have probably gotten it with one or two less but this is a good year for us to make it happen so we choose a unit we were confident we could draw.

Cool thanks for the reply. We applied for 2nd season here. When does CO draw? in the past we have always just done pref points. So this is the first year actually applying.

60-70 qrt should be plenty. Walmart has coleman coolers that are 120 qrt i believe for about 60-70 bucks. These work great. We throw one cooler in for a trip and can hold 2-3 deer with ease.

I usually make Muley into sticks and jerky.

Did anyone hunt these units in the fall of 2020? Wondering if anyone has some input on the 2nd season rifle? In 2021 the season runs First week of November.
