I live in the area and know it well and it’s not generally ok. Pretty tough unit during 2nd rifle. I hunt deer elsewhere. The only thing I do in 29 is hunt ptarmigan.

You’re most likely going to want to quarter your deer and pack it out on your pack in a couple loads. Dragging one out whole will not be fun at the distances it might take to encounter a shooter.

Well, there’s 12 in my group. We have a big green army surplus tent and always setup right by bathrooms at campgrounds.

I reviewed the stats and non resident youth pulled a lot of good tags. I’m pretty educated on the process and I was surprised specifically on the number of quality tags that went to non res youth.

Sorry, I should have said that 3f goex leaves less residue than 2f goex in my flintlock. I’d say 2f 777 burns cleaner than 2f goex but not certain.

I shoot 90gr of triple 7 2f out of my Lyman GPR caplock 54. No problems. I use 3f goex in the same gun but in flintlock. It leaves less residue and groups better at the range when shooting a lot (swabbing between shots).

What made you buy that tag when there is essentially no public land to hunt? I checked onx and I see one swa that doesn’t look like antelope habitat. All other stl are not open to hunting. My conclusion is that you would need private land access secured or it wouldn’t be worth the drive.

Nice growth! I have a pic of sheds in the contest thread that came from a bull that two weeks ago had 2 ft of main beam, most of his g1s and working hard on his g2s. Three younger bulls in the same drainage had velvet nubs.
