They exist in a lot of Utah. Pretty much everywhere east of I-15 you can find bears. There’s a lot of collar data from bears, deer and elk to support the theory that bears do a number on new born ungulates.

I bet hours old calf elk and fawn deer would argue if they qualify as “predators” or not. Lions are definitely expanding. I’m running into lions in places I haven’t seen any trace of them in 20+ years spending time in the areas.

Neither one is worth 70k in my opinion. You could spread that money out over several different hunts and have a lot more to show for it. But if I had to pick, it would be an elephant. Sheep hunting just doesn’t seem that fun.

The units I’d consider throwing 22 points at this year are not even close to the same units I’d be looking at 10 years ago. It changes every year.

This thread is talking about bear, as stated in the title, not elk… in the book cliffs unit. Which is nowhere near San Juan or Monroe. You’d probably be better off to just start over and create your own thread. 22 points I doubt is enough for archery on San Juan as a non res.
