New guy here...hope to be able to help someone!

Steer clear of this Bushwack loser. There are plenty of upstanding and honest outfitters over in SA than to have to deal with dishonest, low class outfitters like this one. He doesn't post over on AH anymore, or AR either because everyone knows him, his antics, and bottom feeder reputation.

I'll take the S2 from Meopta over anything made except for the Swaro modular spotters that go for $4k. I've had the Meopta side by side with my Kowa 884, Zeiss 85T Fl, and several others and I wound up keeping the S2. It's a phenomenal scope...

    Swaro's vs Votex/Meoptra

LAST EDITED ON Aug-07-15 AT 07:55AM (MST)[p]Not being argumentative BPK, but I currently own the Meopta HD, Gold Ring HD, and Swarovision all in 10x42. If you can't find game with the Meopta and/or GR, it's a problem with the glasser, not the glass.

    Swaro's vs Votex/Meoptra

LAST EDITED ON Jul-16-15 AT 07:46AM (MST)[p]I own the Swarovski 10x42 SV, the Meopta 10x42 HD, and the Leupold Gold Ring 10x42 HD, and they're all fantastic. As far as pure optical quality, nothing that I've seen (most all high end except new Lieica HD+, Zeiss HT/SF) can touch the...

    Vortex Optics Opinions Please!

RE: Nikon Premier 10x42 How do you explain the fact that there are chi com optics companies....Zen Ray for one, that have a better warranty than Leica does? Leica has a non transferrable warranty, good for original owner only.....considering the high prices they command I find that laughable...

    Vortex Optics Opinions Please!

RE: Nikon Premier 10x42 I'm in the camp that in order to sell top end Nikon binocs they are alwayes steeply discounted. The Nikon EDG is world class, but they can't give 'em away at retail prices. As for Cameraland, they are nice enough guys, but they are typical retailers, not...

    Big Bucks ?

LAST EDITED ON Feb-19-15 AT 08:01AM (MST)[p]Wondering if you have any pics of that buck eating out of a protein feeder? I've seen lots of pics of that big buck you shot a couple of years ago eating out of one. I guess Muley Crazy has seen them too? It's perfectly legal, so I have no problem...

    Big Bucks ?

One never knows when you're shooting a real, wild, non pen raised buck down there any more, huh Aman? There's a trend down there for some outfitters to raise 'em up, then release them for a real hunter to shoot. Pretty sad deal IMO>

Vortex Razors or used Swarovski, Lieca, Ziess??

Well, someone finally hit the nail on the head (grin!). If you want alpha quality in a $1000 package, look straight to the Meopta HD. Fantastic glass, extremely well built (military optics background), lifetime transferable warranty. Same can be said of the S2 spotter...literally world...

Vortex Range Finder vs Leupold Scope Question

I use the CDS as well and like it. I think you should use the angle compensation on your rf which will give you adjusted yardage, then just turn your dial to whatever yardage the rf says.

    Just booked 1st trip

No travel agent can save you money on the Delta flights, but I used Gracy Travel this past May to handle flights from Dallas/ATL/J'burg, and then overnight hotel room at City Lodge in JB airport. They also secured my SAPS license. Seamless deal, and I highly recommend them.

    Meopta vs Vortex Spotter

SHEDYGAGA nailed it...every word of it. I've had my S2 side by side with a Kowa 884, and Zeiss 85T FL. The S2 more than holds its own amongst these two. It is noticeably better than the Zeiss, and every bit the scope that the Kowa is, with more zoom that you can still get a sharp image with...

    Sonoran Outfitters

I've heard from several outfitters down there, and a few friends of mine who hunt down there every year, to steer clear of SO, for multiple reasons. He seems to like wandering onto ranches that aren't his,if you know what I mean.

    Huskemaw vs Nightforce

I have no idea if this is true or not, and I know little to nothing about Huskemaw. I spent some time in their booth at the DSC show a few weeks ago. I specifically asked them about the glass, in which they just replied that they buy the very best glass they can afford to put in their scopes...

    Zeiss' new Terra line

There's no denying that Cameraland has great service and a great variety of products. He owns a business, and it's his job to sell his wares, and that's OK, but it is very apparent to me, that Doug is first and foremost a salesaman, not a hunter, and not an optical expert at all.

    Best Deals on Leupold?

Predator optcs will be the best deal you'll ever find, but you need to call them or PM or something. He goes by the name Schmalts. If you're serious about getting one give him a shout. It'll be worth your time guaranteed. I buy lots of optcs and usually always give Cameraland a shot at the...

    Beautiful buck I just took!

Great buck appleman, congrats. I posted on the Mexico forum, as I'm curious about something. That buck jogs my memory somewhat, as I think I've seen a live pic of that deer. Do you know of any live shots of that buck? Maybe you took 'em, I don't know.

    Who is going?

We had a Game Warden check us out this year on our mule deer hunt in West Texas. He volunteered to come up and work this area from his home of Kingsville, TX, which is south of San Antonio. I asked him about the border. His exact words were "the closer you get to the border the more vicious...

    2012 Vortex Razor HD 10x42

I agree with Timberbuck. I personally do not know why anyone would spend $1200 on a Vortex Razor, when there's just as good, and often times a better package to be found for less money. A good used SLCneu, EuroHD, Minox, Leupold GR HD, ZenRay ED3, or as TB said, you can buy a 10x42 Zeiss FL...

You found the same things that I've been saying.....The Kowa 883/884 has no peer, including the newest Leica spotter. I've beem using my 884 for a couple of years now and am amazed at the glass every time I use it.

Best Bang for the Buck (binos)

I would definitely wait on the Zen Ray Prime HD's to see if they're worth all the hype. My guess would be that they will be better than expected, but I'd wait to see it with my own eyes. You don't have to spend $1000 to get first rate glass anymore.

    KOWA Scopes

A 60x mag is useful a minority of the time. A 75x is less useful, maybe 10% of the time, therefore I very seldom see an advantage to it at all. I had a Nikon 82ED which is every bit the equal of the previous Zeiss 85T FL, and it had 75x. I could seldom use it due to the atmosphere. Last time...
