Steer clear of this Bushwack loser. There are plenty of upstanding and honest outfitters over in SA than to have to deal with dishonest, low class outfitters like this one. He doesn't post over on AH anymore, or AR either because everyone knows him, his antics, and bottom feeder reputation.

The Meopta S2 is as good as anything made, and better than 95% of them.

They all have electronics warranties like that, except for Vortex, even Zeiss, Leica, Swaro, Leupy, etc.

One never knows when you're shooting a real, wild, non pen raised buck down there any more, huh Aman? There's a trend down there for some outfitters to raise 'em up, then release them for a real hunter to shoot. Pretty sad deal IMO>

Well, someone finally hit the nail on the head (grin!). If you want alpha quality in a $1000 package, look straight to the Meopta HD. Fantastic glass, extremely well built (military optics background), lifetime transferable warranty. Same can be said of the S2 spotter...literally world...

I use the CDS as well and like it. I think you should use the angle compensation on your rf which will give you adjusted yardage, then just turn your dial to whatever yardage the rf says.

No travel agent can save you money on the Delta flights, but I used Gracy Travel this past May to handle flights from Dallas/ATL/J'burg, and then overnight hotel room at City Lodge in JB airport. They also secured my SAPS license. Seamless deal, and I highly recommend them.

I've heard from several outfitters down there, and a few friends of mine who hunt down there every year, to steer clear of SO, for multiple reasons. He seems to like wandering onto ranches that aren't his,if you know what I mean.

I have no idea if this is true or not, and I know little to nothing about Huskemaw. I spent some time in their booth at the DSC show a few weeks ago. I specifically asked them about the glass, in which they just replied that they buy the very best glass they can afford to put in their scopes...

There's no denying that Cameraland has great service and a great variety of products. He owns a business, and it's his job to sell his wares, and that's OK, but it is very apparent to me, that Doug is first and foremost a salesaman, not a hunter, and not an optical expert at all.

I agree with Timberbuck. I personally do not know why anyone would spend $1200 on a Vortex Razor, when there's just as good, and often times a better package to be found for less money. A good used SLCneu, EuroHD, Minox, Leupold GR HD, ZenRay ED3, or as TB said, you can buy a 10x42 Zeiss FL...

You found the same things that I've been saying.....The Kowa 883/884 has no peer, including the newest Leica spotter. I've beem using my 884 for a couple of years now and am amazed at the glass every time I use it.

That becomes a moot point when you consider the CDS has a zero stop. You can't screw it up even if you want to.

I would definitely wait on the Zen Ray Prime HD's to see if they're worth all the hype. My guess would be that they will be better than expected, but I'd wait to see it with my own eyes. You don't have to spend $1000 to get first rate glass anymore.

A 60x mag is useful a minority of the time. A 75x is less useful, maybe 10% of the time, therefore I very seldom see an advantage to it at all. I had a Nikon 82ED which is every bit the equal of the previous Zeiss 85T FL, and it had 75x. I could seldom use it due to the atmosphere. Last time...
