    Muzzleloader Ibex

Although I’m not a fan of power belts I would stick with “what shoots great at 100 yards”. Not really sure how much you would pick up shooting open sights. Guess that depends on your eyes.

    Bullet tumble???

You are also shooting “P” which is probably closer to 110. Had same problem (tumble) with original power belts. I’d reduce powder charge.

    CPW Preference Point Banking Survey

With 2 points currently for elk I’m opposed, but with 15 points for deer I’m for it ?. Im guessing CPW won’t let me have it both ways.

    CPW Preference Point Banking Survey

I tried to go back but the survey blocks repeat access once it is completed. They survey asked how many points for each species (deer, elk, antelope, etc) you have and then went on to ask your preference for point banking for each species (very favorable to not favorable at all). It...

    CPW Preference Point Banking Survey

I received it and have 15 pts for deer as a NR. Would like to get out of the point game and focus on units easier to draw. Seems like this may make those type units harder to draw in general.

    Unit 63 mule deer horable?

To each his own. Gjkimber45 stated that….”YES!!! I had a great time with my son and friend, seen some great country”. More power to him. Cherish family, the ones your with, and memories made. Most times the experience is bigger than the score.

Last minute 201 advice? PM please!

There is a little campground just southwest of diamond peak that may work for you. Take 72 east off of 10 about 9 miles. Bring extra gas as it's very remote and also I would recommend a atv. You can get around in a truck but the roads are rocky and rough so the arc is a much better option...

    2018 pheasant hunt

Hi Gator and Huntfool2. Seen your post running here and hoping you two can bump me in the right direction. I missed my colorado elk draw which seemed like a sure thing. I always wanted to take my F Brits to South Dakota and it looks like this year is it as plan B. I plan to go the day...

    Colorado unit 76 elk

Jq23 I hunted the unit three years ago and I would consider adventurewriter?s initial assessment to be spot on. Not sure about migration patterns but wouldn't worry about that with bow muzzy or first rifle. As far as drainages.....check maps and pick some to take a look at. From my...

My buddy and I are NR's and have 10 pts each. I've been looking at units for a few years and for grins looked at what was possible to draw with 10 pts and put the options on paper with hunt codes, drawn out numbers and success rates. Also included resident stats while I was at it. We are...

Wolf Proposal to introduce in Carbondale Area!!!

Yep, here in Wisconsin they reintroduce wolves with a management goal of 300-325 wolves. They reached that goal and instituted a hunting/trapping season to manage them and it seemed to be working well. After 3 years the bunny huggers sued and got them placed back on the endangered species...

    Unit 57/58

Figured I would answer my own question on the unit posted earlier and add a little insight into the unit(s). There is a place in Canyon City to fill up with water. It's the shell station next to Big Daddy's dinner on Hwy 50 on the west end of town. Never did find a plaice to freeze meat...

Picked up a second season rifle cow tag for my son for the unit. His first time in Colorado and it's a unit I want to check out for a possible future hunt. Did a ton of research and scoured maps and have a plan to start (up cty rd 12, SW of Waugh Mnt). Looks like a lot of private ground...

    Leftovers....

Watched the list for an elk tag for the last 2 days. Like others said they go extremely fast and if your not watching they are gone by the next update (5 min). I'm guessing I've seen 25-30 elk tags go that way. Also found out that just because you have a tag in the shopping cart on website...

    High country hunting

I agree with the physical conditioning. That's probably more important than the scouting vs hunting days as if you get a bit of altitude sickness you'll be shot. I've done high country hunts and ever time with the exception of last year I lost a day or two because of it (head aches, fatigue...
