I'm looking to upgrade from my Vortex. Is going to something in the $1000 range a significant enough upgrade? If so, what's the best pair of glass $1000 or less? I'm looking for 10x. I don't need anything stronger.

Thanks for the replies. Bipods sound good but I'll be getting a set of shooting sticks. I do other hunting with this gun where the bipod isn't necessary and the extra weight would be annoying.

I'm looking at getting either a bipod or shooting sticks but I need some help deciding which is better. I will mainly be hunting breaks/badlands areas with a fair amount of trees. If I went with a bipod it would need to be detachable. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I should probably have been more clear. I'm going to be hunting in the badlands (ND) this year for the first time and do not have a spotting scope. What would be a good, relatively inexpensive model to get? Also, would the compact style be a good option or should I stick with a normal size?
