Wouldn't waste money on a guide for an antelope hunt in any unit, especially unit 1. Haven't heard of a decent sized antelope coming out of unit 1 in several years so just find one and shoot it.

Well that's because it is random. I have never seen a hunt where more guys with top points draw more tags than guys with low points in the random pass. Individually a top point holder has better odds but there are hundreds more people with low points applying so naturally more of those people...

Technically the first pass is bonus pass so 20% of tags go to top point holders. Then the second pass is the pass that looks at 1st and 2nd choice equally. If first choice is available then you will draw first choice, if not and second choice is available it will give you 2nd choice. If neither...

If those were your choices with 31 points you mostly likely drew your first choice. Last year both of those hunts were under 31 points for the bonus pass but obviously never know from year to year. Most likely could have had 5b if you tried for it.

No, if you screwed up and applied for something you don't want just cancel the card you used. It will get declined and you'll get your bonus point but obviously wasted this year for a chance at a tag. If you're just wanting to change to a different unit or something you're out of luck.

Depends what state you're in. Az you can use scopes. I'm also pretty sure that's the point of a muzzleloader. You're supposed to get close. That's why it's considered a primitive weapon.

For mule deer it's literally anywhere in the state that is public land. I believe the only one that limits the units is the sheep tag (at least that's how it used to be).
