Get good glass, tri-pod and a comfortable seat. If your awake, your face should be glued to the bino’s or spotting scope. if you can, get some elevation to glass. Shoot a lot at long range. Hike away from the roads.

My nephew has MS. Can‘t pull a bow now but can use a crossbow, most of the time. He may not be able to hunt someday and it is his passion. 30 years old. Was a very good archer, still one heck of a hunter.

Are you also against giving the disabled and handicap some extra advantages? Kids too?

My brother is like that. Get a tag, go find them, get in position and watch them walk away. I’d say “aren’t you going to shoot”. He would just look at me and smile. He just loves being in the field and chasing animals. He just didn’t care about the killing part anymore.

I guess you are not capable of finding a elk on your own. Have to hire some guy and his minions to show you the animals. I have never had a positive encounter with outfitters. They think they own the woods and try to run you off. Outfitting should be banded. If you can’t DIY, STAY HOME.

My nephew’s friend, 1st buck! Near Sedona, now he is ready for his first elk hunt Sept 9 in 11M. lots of mosquitoes. Around Flagstaff too. Just ordered a thermocell for archery elk.

I agree, my brother and nephew live there. 4WD a must and be careful. Stay on the road, at least it is packed, do not try to drive around bad areas! Turn around if in doubt. Engage FWD BEFORE you need it. The roads do dry pretty quick when it stops raining.

We had a good monsoon in 2015. my bull that year had a hanging weight of 496 lbs. 1993 was a good year too, my bull that year was 535 lbs. 396 lbs cut and wrapped. The butcher bills will be higher this year, LOL.

I had my Remington Ultimate Muzzleloader Mag-Na-ported. Helped a bunch. Nice and clean. No big brake to deal with.

I work in defense. We have a saying, “NO DOUBT”, when the war fighter pulls the trigger there has to be no doubt it will work! I have had first hand experience with, what I call a failure of the Accubond. Grenaded on impact. Use a partition, there is “ NO DOUBT”.

I shot a Bull at 100 yards with 300 RUM, 180 Accubond not LR, just behind the heart and it disintegrated. Tiny entry hole, no exit, just Pieces in the chest cavity, no blood trail.
