Can anyone point me in a good direction to find some turkeys near Richfield this weekend? My 9 year old son has a LE tag and this is the last weekend. So far I've failed him in the first two weekends near Fillmore.

Several calls to IDFG have resulted in several different answers. One said I can buy him a license after inputting his hunter education info. Did that and that was incorrect info. Another call said 10 and 11 year olds must be mentored but that 12 year olds can buy a license without a mentor...

Thanks, that turns into an $800 deer tag real quick. It's poor for them to not offer an option for nonresident youth to obtain a tag without a mentor also buying one.

I've created an account for him but I don't see an option to purchase a youth hunting license. The Nonres Hunting-Jr Mentored ($91.75) seems to be the only option and requires an adult to have the same tag.

Does CPW define what the youth preference is? Is it simply, that if one tag is available and one youth applies, then all adult applicants have zero chance to draw?

Thanks Boop. We have spent time in 35, 36, and 361. The two mature bucks we've seen were on private property. Most does seem to have a small buck or none at all with them.

My Dad was able to get this tag from the reissue list. We spent several days in September scouting and trying to figure access. The tag includes 36, 361, and 45. I'd imagine the deer pushed out of 45 with the big snow storm. Is 361 worth a look or should we focus on 35 and 36? Any advice...
