Wolves killed 4 more this week…

They just increased the add on Bear tag fee from $100 to $250 for non-residents. Wish they would make that a wolf/bear combo tag.

Looking for the do it all spotting scope

First thing you have to decide is the size and weight you want. For a great all around small spotter, I love my Maven CS1A 15-45x 65mm $800 currently. Had it for a few years and it's great glass for the money but totally different category than a 80-95mm body and 60x. Favored Brands: Zeiss...

    Spill the Beans

Points for myself. Wife said 8 days max this year for a trip, which after travel only leaves 5 days of hunting so going to focus on whitetail.

SO??? WHO'S TIRED OF BUYING CHINA BUILT TRASH???

Kifaru Packs, Schnees Boots, and Darn Tough Socks are all made in USA with great quality, durability, and customer service. We need more USA manufacturing, but that results in significant increased retail pricing which the market may or may not tolerate. Hopefully we see more policy changes in...

    When do licenses mail?

Your fishing license/small game combo should've shipped soon after your original purchase, and the deer license just shipped. Perhaps you chose to no have your license shipped and to pick up at an office location?

    Arrows.

Matt, MountainSqwabler is spot on, there a lot of options and opinions! How much are you looking to spend? $10/arrow or $30? What weight broadheads and inserts do you plan to shoot? Which arrow specifically did they recommend and for how much if you'd share? Regards, Rob

    Muzzy success on the Manti

Wow great Bull and congrats to both of you! I struggle with how important some coaches and teachers feel they must be. Our children will not have stellar attendance, family vacations and hunting trips will not be dependent on School.

    Anybody know this guy?

Watched/Listened to a few of his videos, great story teller and comes off as very genuine. Gets a little murky with the Bigfoot encounters, but has spent far more days in the wilderness than myself.

    Bugle tracker 2022

Southern Colorado September 2nd - 9th, few younger bulls bugling but pretty quiet overall. Only saw a couple decent bulls with herds, other mature bulls were solo.

    Thoughts?

Sometimes the ethical thing to do is against the law, it was trespassing and thus do not fault the game wardens for confiscating the deer. Maybe it was a poorly judged shot, too far or bad angle. Most of us have made that mistake at some point, but did we learn that tough lesson and improve not...

    Front stabilizer

+1 on the quivalizer, love mine. The Crossover looks great too, solid adjustable design. The further you get the weight out, the easier is to hold the pin steady, whether at 5 yards or 105 yards, just exaggerated at further distance. It does adjust the holding balance/feel of the bow at full...

Good Bino Chest Pack w/ room for Phone?

+1 on Alaska Guide Creations, I'd get the Alaska Classic Max for 12x50s. Phone can go vertically in a small pocket on the back of the pack next to your chest or in the bottom pocket. Have not tried their new ravus design, but not a fan of how it looks. Binos, milk weed (wind indicator)...

Would you target a buck you HAD to still-hunt?

Go for gold with the arrow! Get as close as you can to that bedding and staging area. Play the wind, but they play it too. Would you feed downwind into dense cover or a perfect ambush if you were him? Bump him and he could vacate the area increasing the chance of somebody else harvesting him...

    Oppressive heat

Cools down into the lower 60s most nights here, hit mid 40*s one night last week, saving grace being able to lock that cool air in before sun up. Had to help family on a metal roof in North Carolina couple weeks ago, that was brutal.

Ashby approved arrow weights for game

I prefer a little extra weight upfront but nothing extreme. Agree with above, speeds of these modern bows were not taken into account by Ashby. Heavier usually results in more momentum but there is definitely a balance. 29" Draw - 68lbs draw weight. Gold Tip Hunter Arrows with 50 Grain...

Can I bring my son hunting if he doesn't have his own tag?

Study the regulation books for each state. Like others have said, call the department in that state and question them. But as a basic rule of thumb, your son should be able to accompany you on any hunt, but he cannot partake in the hunt (aiding in the harvest). Take him along, have him help...
