Deer Gunnison Basin-3. On the edge with points.
Elk 76-1. On the edge with points.
Moose 76. In the noise.
Deer and elk draw will greatly depend on # of high point holders that pivot.
Getting to the southern boundary is a 30+ mile forest service road trip from Williams. However getting to the North rim of Sycamore is only 10+ miles, driving through elk country all the way.
My view is lodging in town is great for early and late hunts in 8. Alternately, 8 has a lot of great...
Good luck! Like others have said, hunt the edges of Sycamore Canyon Wilderness, Bill Williams Mountain drainages, and along the Camp Navajo military base boundary. Bulls will be solo or in small groups. Expect close in contact up to 700 yard shots. I recommend staying in a hotel in Williams.
Humphries Archery would be another option. They carry all major brands including: Hoyt, Bowtech, Mathews, and Elite. They have locations in Salt Lake, American Fork, and Payson.
Kidney's are nothing to take for granted. They are one of the few of our organs that do not naturally repair. Proper hydration is key. As others have mentioned, low-sugar lemonade works for prevention in some cases.
Urethra stents usually pulled out via a string. No medication required...

Beaver unit would be a great muzzy elk hunt. However based on last years draw, he's 4-5 points short of a bonus point round permit draw. This means he would be in the regular permit draw with <1% odds. Like they say, 'there's always a chance.' He should be golden for Pahvant and close for...
Joe2Kool, you're approaching this correctly. A bit more arrow mass and velocity will help. Remember Kinetic Energy = 1/2 Mass x Velocity Squared. Eastons Archery has a great site for KE calculation. Another factor is broadhead performance. I was quite impressed with the Rage Hypodermic's...
Wyoming region "K" is rolling hills. Public land camping abundant on bluffs and side roads off the main North-South road bear river divide road. I personally would not view it as backpacking country. Many private land parcels allow walk-in hunting with proper permit.
Thanks for the update. I was incorrect in my earlier post. MT and NM do not allow amplified scopes on muzzleloaders during muzzleloader specific hunts. It appears NM made the change for 2023 hunts. AZ and WY still allow the technology.
Wyoming, Montana, Arizona, and New Mexico allow hunts with muzzleloaders including scopes with amplification.
For me this means using my two different muzzleloaders in different states.
I thought our groups three elk in one out of state limited entry hunt, including one archery and two rifle tagged elk, was a great adventure. This hunt adventure is orders of magnitude greater! Congrats on a great elk season!
I've reached the age that bonus point usage is higher priority than bonus point accumulation. I continue to search for mid tier hunt opportunities in many states. NV sheep, UT LE Deer and CO elk next focus hunts.
Reminds me of a bull on UT Monroe unit a few years back. This Monroe bull had a rack that grew out, not up. I'm not sure how he ever moved around the mountain with all the timber.
Cascade Springs a good option including dirt roads north of the springs that lead to Heber Valley. Currant Creek Reservoir area holds moose. Upper Strawberry River area a good place to check.
My educated view. As express above. Current is dangerous not voltage. Time duration of event also important. 100 milliamps of current flowing directly through heart for > 2 seconds = death.
I spent a lot of time in 73A in October and November year before last. Lots of elk in first cover above valley floor. I agree with Deepcolor. Easy to find them that time of year. One suggestion would be to find ridges / pockets sheltered from wind.
I use Zeiss 10x25 for close in spot and stock. Smaller size easier for me to handle with bow. I use SW 10x42 and SW spotter for long distance scanning or when sitting water.
53 has potential. 3rd season is a migration hunt as you probably know. Some years migrating deer are in accessible parts of unit. Other years they have migrated past accessible parts to private ground. My last two sentences could be repeated for a lot of CO 3rd season deer hunts, especially...
