    A Very Dear Old Friend

Here are some pics for Bessy. Finally saw my old friend again this morning. I've been working in the area for most of the summer and over the last 4 weeks this fall and finally ran into him over 40 kms from where I last saw him in July. Was nice to get to see him hard horned this year. He had a...

    Tombstone Yukon

We brought 3 spare tires which I was fortunate enough to have not needed, 4 jerry cans on the roof, plus the camping gear and supplies to cover a family of 4 with a dog for 3 weeks. Certainly was a load for the Nissan but it handled it very well especially given the harsh conditions we were in...

    A Very Dear Old Friend

My son was able to pick up a single shed off him in 2010 from his 2009/2010 year, and just this August, my brother found a heavily chewed set from the 2010/2011 year.

    Tombstone Yukon

Glad you enjoyed them. We were in whiteout conditions when we drove the Dempster from Dawson to Inuvik and back again. Was thankfull to finally get some clear weather on our last day in Dawson so we went back up to Tombstone so we could actually see it.

    Tundra Grizzly

Hahaha. I am well aware of what a grizzly is capable of doing and have had plenty of up close and personal encounters with them over the years while working in the thick stuff. This time, in the open tundra, was a pleasure because I was actually able to see it and know where it was at all...

    A Very Dear Old Friend

Longun, While I can hunt muleys, white tails, moose and black bears in this unit every year with general open seasons, there hasn't been an elk season in this unit for over 20 years now. It is a very small struggling herd. Back in the 90's the local chapter of the RMEF tried to get a transplant...

    A Very Dear Old Friend

Been a busy fall thus far and we really haven't had a lot of time to hunt. Spent almost 3 weeks in the Yukon and NWT which ate up all my holiday time. My daughter has a Nov Bull Moose Draw so we will be busy in the late season trying to get her on her first moose.

    A Very Dear Old Friend

Bobcat, I've only seen him once this year. Most years I don't get to see him until late Oct or Nov. I will be working in the area this month, so I might get lucky and find him hard horned.

    A Very Dear Old Friend

I figure some of you might enjoy seeing these pics. In July, I was fortunate enough to get to visit once again with a very dear old friend of mine, a bull I call 'The Big 7'. It has now been 9 years that I have been able to watch and photograph this old warrior. He has to over 13 years old now...

    Tundra Grizzly

I was fortunate enough to encounter this tundra grizzly in the NWT this August. Tried to get some long distance shots but the camera kept on focusing on the falling snowflakes. So I put a stalk on, used the wind and natural lay of the land and crawled up to under 75 yards. I was able to take...

??? of the Day ... Your best shed ever

Over the years, I have found numerous sheds that have 10 or more scorable points. I found one that actually has 18 scorable points. But my biggest sheds are actually a matched set, an 11x11. Both sheds score 111 and change.

A Visit With An Old Friend

We have searched for his sheds numerous times over the years. My son and his dog found one side off of him in the spring of 2010. Another local shed hunting family found the match a day later. Every other year has eluded us.
