Solar: Coming to a Winter Range Near You!

You are 100% correct. They are completely isolated off from the surrounding environment. NOTHING passes through them.

Solar: Coming to a Winter Range Near You!

These are proposals for BLM. We do have a say in what happens there. BLM boasts about their multi use public land goals and solar completely undermines that. They can't develop on areas that are considered critical winter range or migration corridors. If we can start advocating for more of...

Solar: Coming to a Winter Range Near You!

These industrial solar farms don't do s*** for the local economy either. At least an oil well or mine pays royalties and you can still graze wildlife around them. Many of these solar farms have critter fences that have holes so small they're designed to keep even rabbits out. If these start...

Solar: Coming to a Winter Range Near You!

Wyoming G and H non resident tags cut again

Everyone calling for resident hunting to become limited entry should have to show some research or studies that prove limiting buck harvest increases populations... units in our own state with LE tags don't even increase the numbers! I promise there's much bigger issues facing these deer then...

What Ticks N Tines stated is the trick. What are your guys thoughts on all the guides and outfitters pushing to make it a draw for residents? I'm fortunate to run with a crowd that has the discipline to pass immature deer, but I am well aware many residents can't. Would keeping a 3 or 4 point...

    Elk in SW Wyoming

Winter didn't hit the elk like it hit the smaller ungulates. Some big bulls (as in 300 range) but most outfits have clients shoot the first bull they see. Shame what kind of outfits operate in SW WY.

Western Wyoming not as bad as I thought

Spent a couple days last week glassing some old spots. Saw bucks and even a decent sized bachelor group with some potential. Numbers seemed down and deer weren't in the old hangouts.

    What are the odds?

I've wondered this time and time again. My last 3 bucks were 190" at 5.5 years old, 162" at 6.5 years old and 167" at 4.5 years old. I saw the 6.5 year old two years prior to shooting him and he was almost identical just gained a little more mass. I think a safe bet would be 1-3%. Out of those...
