The Utah Statewide Rocky Big Horn Tag will be up for auction at the Salt Lake RMEF banquet Friday March 23rd.
If anyone is interested call Corrie Brems 801-842-3527
Please come to this event tonight and bring your families, and hunting partners and learn about true conservation.
Also a reminder that the Salt Lake Chapter of the RMEF has their fundraising banquet on Saturday night, April 9th. Seating is very limited at this point, but we may still be able...
If there are any interested members that would like to hear some great information from Randy Newberg, and RMEF CEO David Allen on conservation, and how we as sportsmen can help, there will be a seminar on Friday April 8th at the Salt Lake Sheraton at 7:00pm.
This is the 3rd of 4 stops, with...
Nebo,
See my post 31 to you above. We need to hear what the paid biologists and the committee that was put together with the purpose to manage our herds have to say. It looks like that is what you are saying now.
If we pay them to do a job, let's let them do that job, and not manage herds...
RE: Part 2 - Debunking the DWR?s Frequently Asked Questions Re: Utah Expo Permits and Conservation Funding
This is where the scoring was completely wrong. If RMEF proposed to give 100% of the permit application fees, plus 50% of net revenue from the convention back to the state and SFW...
Nebo, remind us again why we pay biologists, have them do studies, make recommendations, and then vote to not follow their recommendations. Seems like the State of Utah could save a lot of money by doing away with trained people in the field, and just listening to special interest groups, on...
Like I said not trying to argue, just looking for answers. but here is the "justification statement". As I put in # 38, everyone of the reasoning's could have been answered, with some research but lets look at # 5 Application fee revenue 150 possible points
c. Discussion:
Both organizations...
Hey Tristate, still waiting to hear how you feel about my response to you on #38 of this thread. and the facts of how we would all benefit from the money that would be used on habitat conservation.
If you ran your taxidermy business, in the same manner that Utah DWR awards contracts, how long...
If I brought you a animal to be mounted and you told me you would do the job. and I returned and you had done a great job on 30% of my animal, but could not tell me what happened to the other 70%, would I, or should I be happy with your service, and continue to use your service? Or would I be...
I have been to too many RAC's and WB Meetings, and they are going to do what they are going to do. I have seen very well thought out proposals from our paid wildlife biologists, demonstrating why we need more or less harvest on a particular unit, only to be swayed by a special interest group...
As I stated above, I sure hope the DWR does not ask for any increases in permit fees, or in increases in the cost of licenses. As they must not need any additional revenue to run the DWR or do Habitat projects!
You want facts?
Please review the odds of the draws for the expo tags, pay close attention to the non resident only permits. Here is the link http://www.huntexpo.com/odds.php Now you will see that there are only around 1,000 people that applied for these permits. I would say that a good...
Thank you for the comments.
This was a Utah Limited Entry hunt. The bulls seemed to move the second week of August, as they were rubbing their velvet. And they continued to move in search of cows, right up to the end of the hunt. The big storm that closed the I-15 freeway, affected the...
It was a very different year, but a great hunt. All the bulls we had spotted prior to the hunt moved, the week before the start of the hunt. Then the rain, came and went changing patterns. Thanks to all those that helped, and made this trip memorable.
The Blood Moon was big and bright after...
I have had the opportunity to hunt this property, and all I can say is, I wish I had the funds to buy it. Somebody will be getting a piece of heaven. Best of luck my friends, in your new home! I look forward to visiting you there.
with Cabelas Cards, check your credit limit, minus your available credit, minus the current charges. it will show the amount of charges that are pending. As long as you know what charges you have made, you should be able to determine if there are any charges to your account. If that is too...

A photo of my sons opening day archery antelope. Great time shared with family and friends.
Yes there will be prizes for placing, and long drive, closest to the pin, ect. But remember this is a fundraiser, so the prizes will not be enough to draw Tiger and Phil off the tour to play. :)
Give Jen a call, she will be able to fill you in on the details.
Thank you for your...

This is a bad idea!
How do you determine which one of your kids or grandkids get the points?
The only way a kid or new hunter has a chance to draw a tag is if us old guys die or can not hunt any longer, and get out of their way.
The system is set up to give the older hunters a "better" chance...
You will keep your points as long as you apply for something. You do not lose points by switching to another species. You just have to apply, at least every 3 years.
