My thread has gone dead so I thought I would ask here. I have about a 8-10 day window to hunt the archery season. When would you locals hunt? I usually wait till the 20th or so in other states to hit the rut, I am an experienced caller and nothing gets me more pumped up than talking to the elk...

I hunted 16d a few years ago. I would call and chase in the mornings and hunt water in the evenings. Killed a nice bull on water on the 6th day. It was the only day I sat water, if I had it to do over again I would hunt water every evening.
