    Seeking Wyo points partner.

IMHO it sounds like a pretty good deal to me, if I was a bit younger I'd be sending a PM now. I mostly hunt solo but guessing this hunt would be a little tougher:) Will have 14 points going into this years draw.

    I want to hunt.

If you are successful in drawing a tag you have to go buy it, Oregon doesn't mail out the actual tags, at least not for residents not sure for non-res??

    Colville, WA Hunting?

My ex-wife has a lot of family in Colville, her aunt and uncle own a bunch of ground in the valley and what they didn't own I used to have access to if I told them about her uncle George. Some big whitetails up there north and west of Colville or at least there used to be when I was still part...

    The draw

Yup 7/1 to 11/30 for point saver, didn't know you could actually do that until I read it in the regs a few days ago. Learned something new, also in the 2023 regs it says results will be posted on June 12th so a bit earlier this year. Good luck to all on your draws.

Mt. Emily Buck Hunt - 154C

Do you know the unit at all?? I wish you luck since you likely burned 20 preference points to draw that tag unless you got lucky in the random. Its a tough hunt if you don't have much experience in the unit. The rut should be going pretty strong about now and there is some snow up top. I...

    Possibly building a rifle

Seems like based on what you want why not go 7MM-08?? IMHO would be hard to not like for anything deer/antelope and up to elk at a reasonable distance which you said would never exceed 400 yards. I've done a bunch including 4-5 on 700 actions, all turned out great. Current favorites are...

    Controlled Hunt Results

Think that is one of the toughest if not the toughest deer tags to draw. Still some big deer in there but the weather can make it a tough hunt. If you have been in the unit you should know you can find deer all over just not lots of them ;)

    Controlled Hunt Results

Yup, they are now posted. Drew a bull elk tag over east in my favorite unit and a 2nd choice mule deer tag so overall pretty happy. Good luck to everyone!!

    Any feedback on meat processor

I've had friends use Bighorn in the past. They do a good job but are expensive. There is also a small shop in Kaycee - Siesta Meats that can help you out if that is near your hunt. Mitch that runs it does a nice job and is cheaper.

Astoria Fishing In Late July, Early August?

I don't know if he still has any open seats on his boat but I would try to get ahold of the guide that goes by Big Game Fishing - he also owns the bait shop at the Hammond boat basin. He is probably the best guide on the river. Buoy 10 does open on August 1st and can be good but the ocean will...

Anyone Hunt Heppner For Late Deer Or Elk ?

I agree with you - OHA doesn't really seem to have any idea of how to improve our mule deer numbers. If they do I sure can't tell you what it is or what they have tried to change at the F & G.

    Halibut Fishing

Dockside Charters out of Depoe has a good reputation for producing fish. Not sure on the dates but May/June is probably good weather depending. I'd be calling them soon to book a trip dates fill up unless you go mid-week its easier to get on. There are some good ones out of Newport also but...

Anyone Hunt Heppner For Late Deer Or Elk ?

Reading the OHA magazine that came the other day, they had an article about 2022 hunt changes and a quick overview. For mule deer it stated we are down to 168k mule deer with I think it said 2 or 3 units at MO, the rest of them all below are way below. Not good.

Good stuff - congrats! I'm hoping to get an invite from a friend that has a pretty nice piece of property over east that should have elk on it now - fingers crossed it works out:) Good to see some snow on the ground.

    My '21 General Utah buck.

Nice buck congrats to you. And yes I would think they could be related. If you look at the one eyeguard on the bigger buck on the right antler it sure looks similar to the left eyeguard on the buck you just got.

    Murders Creek Hunt, Oregon

Quick update to this thread. Not hardly a monster but certainly an interesting forky:) My little area was almost void of deer, and the few deer I did see- the does where all by themselves with no fawns in tow which isn't a good sign. Lots of cougar tracks on my favorite ridge. Anyway, got...

    Ochoco Mule Deer

I've hunted the Ochocos in the past when it was great but like you said not these days. I just returned from hunting a unit just east of there and noticed the same thing. Few deer and lots of thinning going on in my general area. Its pretty ugly and like you mentioned long term it may help...

    Importance of Pronghorn mass

The one on the right is one of the better mass bucks I've taken, they sure are tough to judge in the field though, for me anyway.

    Murders Creek Hunt, Oregon

I also have a Silvies #2 tag so will be there 2nd season. I've had a number of people tell me the antelope aren't all out in the sage so should be interesting, looking forward to it since I got nothing in the Wyoming draw for antelope this year.

    Murders Creek Hunt, Oregon

I'll be in a silver 4Runner - I generally hunt the south end of the unit which most don't for deer. I'll also be in the Silvies this year with an antelope tag in my pocket so looking forward to that since I've not hunted that unit much and never for antelopes.

    Murders Creek Hunt, Oregon

Togwotee pretty much nailed it - I don't have near the history he does in that unit but have been hunting it off and on since the late 1980's or so. From what I have seen it appears the deer are a bit better this year than they have been for a few - still a long ways to go to be great but...

Deer area 34. I’m going all in for it. I just want to hunt this area.

That was my plan also when I started collecting points. Wanted to hunt 34 one day, now I'm at 12 points and doubt I'll put in for that unit, which is tough since 12 points is kinda in a tough spot to draw anything good.

    More LASIK questions

Similar to my experience. I had mine done about 15 years when I was 43. After the surgery my vision improved to better than 20/20 in my right eye and the left was at 20/20. Now 15 years later its still the same but I do need readers most of the time for reading. I can read some things if I'm...
