First timer here or never been to any hunting convention but since the wife has never been to slc we figured this was they year. So bedazzling my pants and getting fired up to draw a Henries buck tag…. Any other advice for first timers??

Here are pics of the rest from me. Got 3 with a bow and 2 w a rifle. 215+ = 32.5 outside 207” = 32.5” wide to the kicker 202” and 30.5” wide.

I got 4 well maybe 5. Only 2 in this pic = they are the far left and 3rd from left. The 2 bucks on the left are 32.5” and 33.5” wide to give perspective. The bottom pic is the smallest of the 5 = that is a 10” crescent.. Great brows and stickers got him there.

Only good part about the wolf vote is resident hunters learned it just might take a ballot measure to fix the very unfair res/non res allocation. Or if the cpw does not act in the next 5 year one is in the works. 90-10 split on every license and let the residents vote on it is how it will get...

The best two things to fix the returned system would be one to give residents the first 24 hours to buy any returned tag. Fair deal as these tags have already been sold once. Cpw is literally swimming in money w the new car registrations so no funding issues! Second put in a rule you can...

Some folks are in the que now despite directions. Others can’t get past residency page lol. Folks at machines are past residency w unit numbers… Smooth like butta again ???‍♂️

Crazy in some units non resident youth drew 60+% of the tags. Very unfair to resident youths as Co kids should get at least a 80-20 split. Not sure why CPW hates us residents so much..

Well I don’t post much but guess I did post on this back in 012. In the past decade the only thing getting bigger in 49 is pressure on quality animals and the points needed to draw. Quality has gone down as more guys who hunt hard, scout, and are focused are in there. Still a good bull taken...

As Doe points out it is not only in the NW this is happening or they added doe tags other places. Add in the moving of the seasons back while loosing basically a week of archery and yea the CPW is acting like they have a war on deer… Where I have been the added tags is resulting in more...

Yea South West Colorado now has the WR typical (Burris Buck) as well the velvet WR. More than a few monsters have been coming out of the 70’s the past few years…

Interesting thread and no worries to the op as it is a good question. I am the one who took the pic of the buck at the top of the page and if I were hunting him my chances would be pretty good 60/40 or better but he got the pass this past year as he was juat too young and had too much...

After last year Colorado now has the worst archery deer starting dates of any state. You may ask why? Well things are messed up in Co and we only have the “elk only” Colorado Bowhunters ASS to thank as the ass choose to move the deer season back and the change will cost archery hunters the best...

Something to think about is that the Colorado bow hunters ASS chose to push the archery deer season back almost a week last year. Or this year archery hunters lost the best 5 days of the season. Next year it will be worse.. With how close archery is to muzzy and high country rifle now along...
