    Nebo Central unit help

I just moved a week ago to Centerfield Utah, near Gunnison. I have always hunted for meat as I have never been a wealthy man and the meat would sustain my family. I am hoping that some may be willing to share some information so that my wife and I may have some deer meat this year. Any...

    Let?s talk turkey

Thank you for the well written advice. I have been enjoying the hunt thus far scouting. Watching them strut and do their thing is pretty cool. Now to find them on public land.

    Let?s talk turkey

I have a general state wide turkey tag this year (my first) and was wondering if any had any advice as to where to find some on public land near me and also any tips or tricks to be successful. I live in Fountain Green, Utah. I have seen a lot of turkeys near here but they are all on private...

    Vernon Unit

Had a Muzzy tag in 2016. Spotted a lot of deer and bucks in the summer including during the archery hunt. The weather turned and the deer were gone. It was a tough hunt for me. My disability does not permit total mobility so I covered a lot of ground on the atv. I would hunt south of Little...

    Central men's Nebo Muzzy

Well, I finally got it done. At the last minute. I know this is monster Muley's but being disabled I'll take any buck muley most days. A two point for me! Can't wait to cook up some tender loins and as my brother says "flap a lip over it". Thank you to all that gave information and helpful tips...

    Central men's Nebo Muzzy

I shot one but never found it. It was a tough hunt and I only had one buck in the cross hairs. The deer were scarce for a limited entry unit.

    Central men's Nebo Muzzy

I had a Vernon tag last year and ran into a rancher that has been running cattle out there for years. He said that the CWD was so bad on the Vernon that the carcasses were lying everywhere. He said the ranchers contacted the DWR and wanted to help any way they could but the DWR did nothing. The...

    Central men's Nebo Muzzy

Rough hunt thus far. Several years back I would never have had a problem shooting a buck. Now I can't even dream one up. Did CWD wipe out this once thriving herd or are they migrating early? On the up side, I don't have to clean the muzzle loader. Will be back at it in a couple of days.

    Central men's Nebo Muzzy

Thanks for all the responses on the men's deer hunt. I saw 8 does today. Deer are scarce around the Fountain Green area. I have tomorrow morning then maybe come back the first of the week.

    Central men's Nebo Muzzy

I have a disability and it makes it difficult to hike. I scouted some last night and saw a handful of deer. Also saw a large herd of elk with several great bulls. They were making a lot of noise and chasing cows. Did not see a single deer this morning, just a young coyote running in the road in...

    Glass Bedding

Did you have to change your breach plug to use Black Horn? If so, what type is it? I use 777 FFFG and I like it but clean up is a pain, not too bad if you spit patch between shots. Curious about the Black Horn. Looks like I need to save some money and get busy bedding.

    Glass Bedding

Nicely done! Where did you find the stock? The arrow shaft was a very good idea. What size arrow? How does the muzzle brake work, easier on the shoulder or less barrel rise? I am impressed with the mods that you made. I would like to do the same to mine as I use it exclusively. I have found it...

    Glass Bedding

I have a Knight Disc Elite and a Knight Bighorn. The Elite shoots very good but the Bighorn does not. Perhaps both could benefit? I am a little nervous about messing with the Elite. Could you send some photos of your knight and some information on how you bedded it? It would be very helpful. Thanks.

    Glass Bedding

Thanks for the input Zeke. I will hopefully get some more information especially related to the rifle in question. I am still toying with the idea of a full length stock.

    Glass Bedding

I have a muzzleloader that the stock fits snug along the barrel channel and I was wondering if that could have something to do with the accuracy. It is a knight bighorn and the stock is short. Has one screw holding the stock on.

    T/C 300 Grain PTX

    T/C 300 Grain PTX

I contacted Hornady about the PTX as they made them for T/C and was told the following: "We make the bullets to whatever spec they decide to make it too. We would speculate that they would resemble the SST closely." I have some cutaway photos of this and similar bullets I will post. The reason...

    Loose fitting bullet/sabot

I have put a mic on the Hornady XTP and the Speer Gold Dots in .452 and they both measured .451. I picked up some old T/C PTX bullets and they measured .452. I was surprised to see the inconsistent measurements in these types of bullets. You would assume if it said. 452 on the box it would...

    T/C 300 Grain PTX

I recently found a bunch of these 300 grain PTX bullets and was wondering if anyone has any experience with them. I understand that they were made by Hornady for T/C. I have used the Speer 300 grain Gold Dot for years but am getting low on supply and can't find any anywhere, so I thought I would...

    Loose fitting bullet/sabot

Thanks for the video. Knurling is an option but I tend to get a bit nervous changing the bullet. Does it affect accuracy also creating wind drag or is the bullet now an oblong shape. That would be my concern. Foil works great and it doesn't fall off when storing bullets and you can customize...

    The worlds most powerful muzzleloader

For hunting applications here in the West I can't think of a use either. I didn't think it was possible to get a 45 caliber bullet moving that fast. I shoot about 2000 feet per second slower and use a 300 grain bullet. It seems to work just fine. I like a little smoke after I pull the trigger...
