What do you think it would take for region G to come back?

Totally agree. And that should be the mind set for all States. But as it relates to G the residents seem to think the solution is just to eliminate NR tags and not give up anything. It may take a few years of limiting resident tags also.

What do you think it would take for region G to come back?

So you are endorsing putting outfitters in the unemployment line. 😳Maybe issue no resident tags until the numbers are back since they kill the largest "number” of deer. Or better yet set tag numbers and make it a draw for both resident and NR until herd recovery. To be honest we should not be...

What do you think it would take for region G to come back?

Makes sense if your a NR and interested in a trophy caliber deer you hunt where you have the best chance.

Report Finds That New Mexico’s Elk Licensing System Favors Wealthy Landowners and Out-of-Staters Over Residents

This is only because of the high price of the LO tags. Make them a flat $1000 and see how that would change.

Willing to help / trade ?

Other hunts always got in the way of using my CO deer points. Cashed 21 in last year on 67 3rd. Had a great time and saw a ton of deer but mature bucks were not to be found. Saw one true shooter and he was still on the bottom end of what I call good.

For Sale REM MOD 7 WALNUT STOCK

I have one of those also. Took the wood stock off the day I bought it and set it aside. Also killed a bunch of coyote with mine. Haven’t shot it in almost 20 years.

    Winchester Rifle Appraiser

I have almost the copy of this gun except mine is a take down version. So hard to get a value on these. Bottom line is they are only worth what someone will pay for it. It takes a select buyer and the guys wanting the old Wins are dwindling.

    Grading 2023 Colorado Buck season?

I spent 9 days in 67 during 3rd season. Numbers were not a problem. I saw more deer than I have ever seen on a hunt. Buck doe ratio also seemed good for my novice experience in this unit. But the absence of mature bucks was pretty evident from what I seen and what others I talked to saw...

    Leupold 15-30 X 50 Spotter

Appreciate the feedback Ridgetops. I left it in the packaging wanting to get a little feedback before opening it up. Guess it looks like I should give it a chance. I just wish it came in an angled version.

    Leupold 15-30 X 50 Spotter

Anyone have any experience with the spotter. Leupold sent me this spotter as a replacement for my old 25X50 that was not repairable. Trying to decide if I want to keep it.

Wanted Winchester Model 61. 22 Rifle

It might bring that much if it is in the original box and unfired. Otherwise they sell around 1000-1300 in that condition. Early Octagon barrel models will dictate a premium.

Wanted Winchester Model 61. 22 Rifle

The last two 61’s I sold were in that price range so that is a pretty fair price. From the pic it looks in good shape. I did have a 61 in .22 Mag but that sold for considerably more.

    CO Elk Ranch Hunt Recommendation

I have 9 NR elk points and would like to use them in 2024 on a Muzzy or archery hunt. Looking for a ranch to hunt unguided preferable. Just looking for a fun hunt and won’t pass on any legal bull. At my age I just don’t want to trudge around the NF anymore. I have done that on numerous hunts...

    Gravel bike racing

Sounds like someone needs to look at who is promoting these events in the area. I have hunted the Craig area since 1978 and love my stops in Steamboat. FM Light store is always a stop for my gift for the wife. Sad to hear that it is getting so busy.

    Gravel bike racing

They definitely have the right to dislike it. I dislike the odds of drawing a decent tag. But hose 3000 bikers and all the support they bring to the table and the viewers bring in a lot of dollars for that weekend. I doubt CO wants to lose that income.

    Gravel bike racing

Ranchers are going to have to face the inevitable. They have to share the space with others. And in CO they are loosing their voice and power.

    24 draw

I have 8 NR elk points and hope to use them somewhere on a muzzy hunt. I burned 21 Elk points the last time on a Unit 2 archery hunt. Know that tag is not in the future at my age. For me the quality of the hunt is seeing elk and hopefully filling a tag. I have plenty of bone that sits in the...
