As nmarchr mentioned above, it depends. Sooooo many variables. I'm sure some have hit the shoulder and the deer died quickly and was found, others...not so much. I've avoided a few quartering front shots because the arrow would have had to go through the shoulder to get to the vitals.
Love a nice watch but haven't worn one in about twenty years. The time of day is available everywhere...yet I still find myself looking for the perfect watch.

Here's the link. It's all there but will take some time to look through, read it a few times and it will make sense. There are different types of reservations/methods.
I also recommend bringing some shotguns for upland game. No...
I'm starting a new conservation organization: Foundation for Unlimited Kangaroos, United. I'll be asking thousands of people to volunteer to raise money, sell beer coozies, kangaroo paintings and sculpture and buy a magazine and custom license plates. I'll be the only (high paid) employee...

This. Love mine, simple, works.
I would just add a recommendation to get on Block Management maps asap, as soon as you can nail down dates. Public land is sometimes crazy crowded anymore!! Especially regions 6 and 7. Block Managenet, not so much. Get the block management maps from Region 6 and 7 FWP offices, cross...
Fixed because simple wins. I used Rage mechanicals with the rubber rings for a few years but they were a pain when the broadhead brushed against a twig or branch - ring would sometimes slip. I use Muzzy 100 gr.
I did shoot two does with the Rage mechanicals and the results were amazing - very...
If you're hunting on horseback and don't plan on doing much hiking bibs might work. If you're hauling yourself and all your gear up and down the mountain...toss them bibs in the trash!! I can't imagine how much heat they would trap and dealing with the weight. Staying warm is critical, but so...
Early on I had the two section and was leaning over way too much for my liking. Have the three section now and it's plenty for a sitting shot. I put the shorter one on my prairie dog rifle.

I have the Sitka packable rain jacket and love it but mainly use it as a shell over insulation when it gets cold or if the wind is going Mach 10. My friend has Frogg Togs, WAY less money, works like a charm. Another guy bought the Cabelas stuff, also works great for occasional rain shower...
Harris regular or military with the flexible base. Tried an atlas and some others. Some were stupid expensive but way more solid than a Harris. My beefs were: didn't get high enough to shoot sitting when you're in grass, were heavy or bulky or took too long to set up. Harris or the many...
Shot plain old 130 gr Remington Cor-lokts, 72 grains 414 (i think) for 25 years. Accurate and bang flop on elk, deer, antelope, etc.. Not sure what was happening with yours. As above, any competent gunsmith can fix the problem.
Can't compare the Leica 900 to the Sig but I've had a Leica 900 for years, probably since the first year they sold them. It ranges farther than 900 all the time. I think it thinks its a Leica 1200.... If it doesn't take a reading on the critter it takes about 1/10 second to range a rock or...
No one owns the buck, hunt him, they both have the same right as does someone who stumbles on the buck by accident. If someone pulls up to a small-ish public land area earlier than me, I stay out of their way or leave. I'm rarely afforded the same courtesy. Crazy to think anyone owns a...
Upland birds: Miles City. Also deer, antelope, predators, varmints.
Lewistown, Dillon, Havre all good.
For Wyoming Sheridan's tough to beat! Great town, work there sometimes and they all seem to be having way too much fun outside.
I used the way old K4 version for 15 years, then hunted in a downpour and fogged it and moved "up" to a variable. It was great, simple, easy for 99% of everything. Even used it out to 550 one time, no wind, etc..
Very wise to have her start simple.
Same as most above: Swaro 65HD with 20-50 eye piece. Period. Did it, wish I'd done it years ago. It's a bit heavy, not near as portable as a 50mm objective and worth every single ounce.
I've had two Weaver GS scopes, 6 x 20 and a fixed 4.75. I put them side by side with a high dollar Leupold and they were not quite as clear in the middle of the day. Didn't do any high dollar German glass comparisons.
Still, excellent glass for the $.

500 lumens!?! That's incredible.
Speaking of adjustable output lights, I just bought a Fenix HL30 headlamp. Reason is that I wanted extra battery capacity (2 AAs) and went to one battery for all my stuff: AA. Used to have AA, AAA and 123As for headlamps, gps, camera, etc.. I give up some...
llama packer's way wrong. Ridiculous in fact.
Their website shows "base" as a regular thing you were WHEN YOU'RE HUNTING. Base layers should last. I have an early Sitka wool base layer, worn through brush, and it lasts just fine. Cotton and fleece base layers last also.

I have a very old pair of 8 x 30 Zeiss binos. They're great, especially for the price. Mine were about $100 15 years ago. I've since upgraded to some Leica's but I keep the old Zeiss. Side by side the new glass is way better, but the old ones are well worth the price.
