Might as well get this started

So true, I admit that I enjoy seeing other people's harvest and don't post anything, I will share info with folks I have talked with offline. Social media has changed the game, and not for the better. I used to draw a NM bull tag every couple of years, now I am 11 years from the last one. I will...

Might as well get this started

It's tough, you can do a lot of data mining on units with a simple google search. I have asked for general advice and received it on here, I have also gotten crickets. Lol. I have also provided general advice to others on units I am familiar with but have never given a "spot away". Some sites...

Stationed in PDX, got a week for late season deer in western Oregon ….tips?

Rain and Wind are the best times to hunt them, gets them up and moving around. I have usually found them in more open stands of bigger timber. I am by no means an expert like some folks are.

Stationed in PDX, got a week for late season deer in western Oregon ….tips?

Should be lots of deer around the Fire Scars in those areas. I heard they opened up some of them this year and they had high success in them. That being said with the recent and upcoming weather (rain) be aware of trees coming down and landslides. Might look for some BLM or Forest service land...

    Montana deer hunt

Well not much to add to this thread, I spent 6 days at the end of the season hunting, saw bucks every day, saw more people than I have ever seen. I walked into areas others weren't in, I have glass, and I have been successful before. It can be fun in November but the spots I used to have to...

What good is a domestic sheep?

There is no synthetic fiber out there better than wool, but I do wonder what we do with sheep in the US. Not much market for the meat like in other places in the world and they are hell on the landscape.

Anyone willing to share some general info on the unit 68 September archery hunt? Never hunted Antelope with a bow, will they be rutting in September? Season is the 9th-24th. What methods have worked best? Blind or decoy? Its a big unit and looks like lots of Ag land North and South. Is there...

    Glass vs Boot leather

I use both, like to glass with Binos on a tripod and confirm with the spotter. I also go by the rule, just because I didn't glass something doesn't mean there isn't something there. If it looks good I still walk it. But is usually takes miles for piles. Lol

The 90/10 at this time only applies to the big 5 and not elk, deer, and antelope unless something changed from the initial proposal. Did I miss something?

    116 Deer

Poke around the North Fork of Dick Creek, we saw 3 whitetail bucks in there on our Muley hunt. One was pretty good 4x5, probably a 140 buck. Saw him from the road but there is lots of thick cover and aspen in there too.

    Wyoming Deer Question

Thanks for all the input and help. Hunt starts the 15th so I know there is probably some archery pressure but thinking it won't be to much. We plan on starting high and working down. Will have a few days to scout and about 10 to hunt.

    Wyoming Deer Question

Neither, its a unit with few tags. Don't want to be torn apart by naming it. We have about 10 days to hunt and can come back towards the end of need be, have a couple of mules, strong backs, good glass. Will definitely put in the time and effort.
