Ocho I agree. Went into a spot in 10 where I have killed 20+ mature birds and theres not a turkey one in there. Plus the amount of people doesnt help. Our opener is about 3 weeks too late.

Hunt is tough. But work hard and go where you think elk would never be. That time of year they are pushed hard. Had the same hunt in 2019 and killed a big old heavy 5x5.

Burro archery coues for me. Wife drew a cow tag and a deer tag. Dad and sister drew 2nd archery elk in 12.

To answer your question truthfully, yes its that bad. Way over hunted for all too long. When them elk would bail into the private all that was waiting for them were the hundreds of landowner tag holders. All the big surrounding ranches were issued way to many tags. The elk never had a chance in...

Yup been seeing them in 13,12 and 10. Caught one in a coyote trap last year on some land on the north side of I-40.

Young bull. Will be a 5x or a small 6x at best. Maybe 280. Thats assuming the date is correct. Just my opinion.
