Yeah, that is part of my thought. I elk hunted around there a couple years ago and loved the area. Close enough to drive day hunt for me. The dates are good for me also and I really don't care all that much if I shoot something.

Yes, I've had way more bugling/rutting action on general area hunts all over the west. Having little pressure is the only thing that made this hunt ok. It took me 2+ hours of working and dogging that bull to call him into my dad. May not have worked with lots of other hunters around.

You're not looking in the right place. Nobody updates web sites anymore. It's all social media. You can see plenty of VERY big bulls if you look. Think you probabaly already know that since you were saying you could draw ;)

Simple answer is draw odds never get better. If some guys(I doubt) drop out because they can't use a scope, at least as many will jump in. Agree with some above... might be even more jumping in thinking it will be better only to find out they were worse.

I think people forget the intent of what the special tag was for. To increase the odds of getting a tag for those willing to pay more. In recent years the difference in cost has not been enough to make much of a difference in odds. So, whether the tag costs $500 or $5000 more than the regular...

I'm as anti liberal as they come. But, I do understand the sentiment and agree 100%. Why I'm moving to WY and get along with everyone I have met there. I spend a lot of time there already most every year. Just spent 3 of the last 5 months there and have met many great folks.

You're right. Just looked. I thought the Res deadline was June 31st for some reason. I will make sure to move sometime in May not June in order to make the deadline. There really is nothing keeping me from moving whenever.

Well, the reason I've not already used them somewhere like G is I spend late Aug. Until Oct or Nov elk hunting. I've never wanted to give up anytime in Sept deer hunting. Probabaly will just use them on a Central WY unit and find a little time late Oct. around or between elk hunts.
