Mirrorless, Interchangeable Lens Full Frame or APS-C

Your story sounds familiar. I made the jump a few years back and have never looked back. Your existing lens collection will work perfectly.

Mirrorless, Interchangeable Lens Full Frame or APS-C

Both are great. Both are expensive. I have a Canon Mirrorless with Canon L lenses. Wonderful performance. To me worth the $. Others may feel differently. Go to YouTube and watch some videos by Fox + Fir to see what Canon can do.

Hunt unit with 11 pts Wyoming Antelope

I hunted 67 three years ago. Waited until after opening weekend and we were all alone out there. It was tons of fun. I don’t kill a monster but I did get a really nice buck. I don’t know what affect last winter had though.

Thanks for your help on scopes

I don’t have an issue with the ML scope change proposal. As far as reverting centerfire rifles back to open sights because that’s the way it was, buffalo hunters in the 1880’s had scope sighted rifles and used them to great effect. How far back are we going?

    Antelope winterkill

Agreed. Hunted that area for most of my life. It went from having antelope everywhere to very, very few. Hard to believe all the doe tags and captures to transplant didn't have a negative effect.

    Fifth wheel or Bumper pull?

I have both a bumper pull and a 5th wheel. I prefer the 5th wheel. The 5th wheel is bigger and has 3 slides. I pulled it with your exact set up. It was fine but slower up hills and than the duramax I replaced it with. It's totally doable with your truck to pull a 5th wheel this size. One...

MAYBE THE GAL THAT WANTED LAKE POWELL TAKEN BACK TO ORIGINAL RIVER WILL GET HER WISH???

Navajo Generating Station did in fact use around 35K AF and had the contract to use 50K. That water is owned by the state of Arizona and not by SRP. I worked at Navajo Station for many years (36) and was there when we closed it down. I am pretty familier with that water situation. The Navajo...

Best place to live in Arizona?

I lived in Eagar for 6 years. Moved after I retired in 2020. Eagar/Springerville had doctors and a hospital. It's a great place to live. Summers are great. The mountains are at your doorstep. There are many lakes and a few streams to fish in within 30 minutes. Fewer people and to me that's a...

What rifle Calibers have you used?

I got to thinking about rifle cartridges and what I have used to kill deer in the past. Granted I am pretty old and my hunting career goes back a long time. I thought it might be Interesting to see what center fire calibers you all have used to kill deer with. Here is my list. Although not in...

I have 24 resident moose points. Hell I thought I was getting close. By the time I draw I will be old as hell. I looked at the draw odds. They list 29 as maximum.

    Paunsaguant LE Elk hunt help.

I have spent the 1st week of September down there the last 2 years. We had spike hunters in our group and they were covering a lot of ground. The elk were hanging in the Park (Bryce Canyon) and didn't seem to leave much at all. Hope you find a nice bull for that son. That unit is a feast or...

    90/10 not going away...

I am a NR and have hunted Wyo for antelope twice. I burned my points last year and had a great hunt. If I had a bunch of preference points in Wyoming I would be sad, seem less than fair to suddenly have odds cut in half or worse. However I agree that residents of the state should get the lions...

    Utah moose with 23 points

I have 23 points for Utah moose. Looks like I could possibly draw East Canyon Morgan or South Slope Diamond Mountain. Or I could put in for a lower odds tag and cross my fingers. Any ideas or suggestions? A guide is not out of the question

    Thousand Lakes fishing

There are several lakes on Thousand Lake mountain you can fish. Snow lake and Deep Creek lake are not hard to access. There are distributed campsites on the main gravel road that access the mountain. I don't see any reason to camp or to fish on a different mountain than your scouting.

If a guy were to retire in AZ..

Eagar, Springerville, Taylor, Snowflake. Show Low if you want a bit larger. I spent 5 years up on the "mountain" and for hunting and fishing its hard to beat. However its cold in the winter and the wind really blows hard there during the spring. Ultimately I did not retire there but that's...

What happened to the Parker Mountain Antelope herd?

The Parker mountain Antelope herd has declined to the point that there is no longer a hunt in that area. How did the largest herd in the state, become almost nonexistent? The game and fish trapped many of them for transplant. They had doe hunts in large numbers. Was that the cause? Wondering...

    Knee Replacement Surgery

Had total replacement on my right knee at 51. The rehab is not easy but if you want a good outcome do it. I went elk hunting at 8 weeks but was still very sore. Figure 6 months for a complete recovery but you can do almost anything after 12 weeks. It was worth but for me.

    NR Antelope unit selection

I have 7 points entering this years draw. I have hunted unit 90-1 once before. I will be looking over the drawing odds but wonder if anyone has an opinion they will share on unit selection? Oh and once I stop hunting I want to Fly Fish so being near water would be a plus.

IMHO Cody is way too far from the park to stay there. It's a cool place and worth visiting though. Jackson the same. Been there done that with both.
