@DBL Yes you can buy a tag when applying for deer, or just buy your tags, or only if successful in the draw. Basically they were just trying to make it easier for people to get a lion tag because of the pressure from the predator fee and certain people wanting get every lion dead. Bottom line...

And just to eliminate an argument that I am a lion lover....

It will be cyclic. Lions will get killed in spades, numbers will drop. People will still be out to save the deer, and get tired of breaking axles and repairing traps and feeding hounds and being cold. Wives will get pissed about all the time away from family for an unworthy cause of saving...

Thanks for posting an in depth description of what you have been working on. Our local mule deer committee has identified horses and habitat (primarily cheat grass invasion) as the biggest factors. Development and predation were on the list as well.

He just has a "big" look to him. Swayed back, brisket sticking out, even a bit of an "attitude" look to him. Much like looks people get as they age really. I could be off by some, but certainly a very nice buck and one you would not see me passing up.
