I have the Bog Pod, and my buddy has the Primos tripod TriggerStick...which I think is pretty slick. Either way the tripod is much more solid than the bipod in sittibg or standing positions, and would be the way to go in my opinion...especially with the kids.

His son-in-law drew and hunted thru Wednesday morning, passing on smaller bulls in search of a big one. He ended up with tag soup, but said that another hunter tagged a monster 6x7 pushing 400". One of the outfitters on the hunt also stated that a non-typical was taken last year that scored 413".

Good point about Banco Bonito. Might have to reconsider that. Although I don't believe they allow campfires there... If/when succesful, there's nothing like celebrating around an open fire with fresh tenderloin grilled over hot coals.

Yeah, my understanding is that they used to split eveybody up into zoned areas, but that has since changed... With only 15 hunters, it shouldnt be too big of an issue.

From what I understand, they will send you a packet about a month before your hunt date. Orientation is at the entrance station the day before your hunt, when you get your Special Use Permit ($35). FYI: you will also have to pay a $20 per vehicle entrance fee that is good for 5 days.

Quartering away like that...heck yes I'd send it.

If I had the range exactly dialed in, and they let me get to full draw, I'm sending it. They'd jump the string on my old bow from 20 years ago, but my current bow is crazy quiet...and that arrow will get there a heck of a lot quicker too.

That letter Marion Hammer sent out raises all sorts of red flags to me, and could even be considered slanderous. Yeti was slow to respond and their one reponse was brief, but I still think way too many are going off the deep end over this. I'm not about to go blowing up any expensive equipment...

I like option 2. I managed to draw my OIL tag in 2003, and I hkbestly believe the main reason I did was the rules changes and application deadline change that year...a lot of people dropped the ball, which worked in my favor. Maybe it's just selfish opportunity for me to hunt the WSMR again...
