Area 10 is huge. There's resident deer in those ranges. Obviously the Rubies have the most deer numbers. I have hunted the southern edge of 10 and come across good bucks

Good tag to have, its one of my choices every year. The high country are great places to get away from other hunters. They produces good bucks.

If it doesn't snow the sheep will be on top. Finding sheep shouldn't be a problem if they are on top. I packed in and camped near the top. It made it easier to move around. Good luck

Yep, drew a desert with 7 points. About 8 years ago.

Elk population is very limited on the "Rez". Having said that, people "in the know" do kill very big elk.

You can get a landowner tag in Nevada and do it DIY, with these tags you can choose which season(weapon)to go on. I've seen prices for these tags over 12K though. Utah has similar landowner tags. Good luck in your search.

Other areas to look at would be south of Major's Place, along the east side of the mtn range, low in the cedars. They winter in those areas. The conservation camp inmates has clear cut alot of the areas south of Connor's summit( west side), elk should be using those areas.

Doyle Moss guides for Ron Lara in that unit and they take really good bucks. There are a lot of roads, but there are good bucks.

For the early hunt you don't want snow. The sheep will stay on top of Jefferson. Its open and finding sheep is not a problem, the openness made it tough to get close for a shot. I set on one herd (50-60 heads)with 10 mature rams, for three days before I had a shot. It was an awesome hunt.

I should have mention that 10 is a huge area, the rubys hold a majority of the deer herd. Don't overlook other mountain ranges, they have less deer, but quality bucks can be seen.
