Lifetime license holders that are nonresidents only are allowed to draw tags allocated to nonresidents. You do not become a resident just because you bought a lifetime license, even if you used to be a resident.

My son has had good luck with the 6.5cr with the hornady 143 eldx. He has killed 2 elk and a muley. One elk and a mule deer dropped in their tracks, one elk too 2-3 steps and dropped. Both elk were cows , under 100 yards.

i shoot exclusively mechanicals. but i'm choosey. 90 percent of mechanicals look like a piece of junk. it better look like it's going to go in deep, or i won't even look at it. I shot the ulmer edges until they were gone, and i now shoot shwackers. to me, accuracy is everything. i've had...

just use an expandable. i don't have any tuning issues. my shwackers don't group as tight as field points, but the difference is negligible. Groups i could get at 50 yards were about 3-4 inches. But the deer still died, 57 yards.
