WILL YOU??? HAVE YOU??? WILL YOU NOT??? SELF REGULATE???

It was a question to all those saying I love the meat and you can’t eat antlers, Those that’s use the term “trophy hunting” as a negative. Nothing more nothing less. Those typing that probably also all entered for LE this past month. In their minds they are hoping to draw a tag…they are...

WILL YOU??? HAVE YOU??? WILL YOU NOT??? SELF REGULATE???

Bess, I think you got your answer. The "trophy hunting" term is the hunting communities equivalent of calling someone you disagree with a racist. If antlers don't matter to most hunters then why do so many more hunters apply for LE Deer and Elk tags than those applying for antlerless...

WILL YOU??? HAVE YOU??? WILL YOU NOT??? SELF REGULATE???

I've killed 2 general season bucks in Utah the past 15 years and zero in the last 10 years. One was wounded on the last day of the hunt and the other was the best general buck I have ever killed. I don't tell others what to shoot and the fam has shot a lot more than I have. But I...

    Wildlife Board Workshop

The fact that you think Option 2 came from SFW proves my point on reality. Option 2 was a to give the state the ability to manage more focused and for each herd rather than blanket management. They purposely chose not to utilize it that way. They then use guys like you to justify it...

    Wildlife Board Workshop

Bess, I agree….try it on 3 units, try some other options on 3 other units and some more on 3 other units. That was the entire thought process Beijing Option 2. Give the DWR the ability to manage each herd individually with more focus on what they unit needed specifically to grow. The DWR...

    Utah mule deer limited entry

If you are willing to put in the time all of those units will produce 180" bucks. As will a couple other units. So are you asking which unit will the be easiest to find a 180" buck? You will be able to compete with the Outfitters and guides...the question is do you want to and are you...

    Wildlife Board Workshop

See they have you focused only on tag cuts rather than all of the other options and possible fixes to help the herds. I personally have said there are so many options outside of tag cuts. The state would rather cut tags, and do nothing else to help the herds. Then they can have guys like...

    Wildlife Board Workshop

This started way way way before SFW. All of you Johnny Come Lately's don't look a the entire picture. SFW ONLY exists due to decades of mismanagement from the state agencies. The fact that you all focus the blame on that is a perfect example of manipulation. You are all hating exactly who...

"guided" or "controlled" or "owned" Biologists presenting manipulated data are FAR more dangerous than misguided hunters. Take a look at the last 40 years in UT and you'll have a perfect case study.

    Thoughts: San Juan vs. Vernon

Thats the way it should be. The term DIY does not fit into that realm in my eyes anymore. Very few of us pay but we also don't do it DIY, we get support from other great sportsmen. Too many jump on and claim DIY when they have leaned on others that have build the knowledge, put in the time...

    Thoughts: San Juan vs. Vernon

Ridge, I believe you and so would lots of people. People will also give information and advice on both units. I just chuckle with people that are asking for info but are quick to say DIY only! Nope they are asking for help and would love it ....they just don't want to pay for it . It should...

I’ve been hunting 1000 Lakes for the past 10 years. I agree with Packout….it’s not even a shell of what it was. I guess I like that it’s close to the cabin. I honestly would have had guilt pulling the trigger on my tag last year.
