    2019 Cow Elk Hunt

I'd suggest buying 1 PP, then applying for the unit 30 type 4 tag. Little more money for a cow tag, but it would be a guaranteed tag based off previous years draw odds. Do you want an extra $200 in your pocket, or to have a tag in your pocket??

    Area 23 Antelope

Best advise I got is go to Johnson, and Campbell county GIS maps, click on land, see the owner, google their name to see if you can find a number for the owner, and if you can get a hold of someone ask if they do Antelope hunts. If they don't maybe they would know someone, or someone that has an...

Fishing in the Beartooth Highway area

Been many years ago, but yes I've fished up there, mainly there to hunt, so fishing was a second thought. Beartooth Lake holds fish the creek, and the other creek I fished was down from there, might have been Muddy creek. Mostly small fish, I did run into a guy one year that was looking for a...

Unit 6 Cow elk hunt in Jan?

Call the local warden. He gave me a couple names last year of guys, didn't end up going in the end, but he said they let guys on. Never got to a point of knowing if it was free or if they charged. Good luck!

    Unit 7 Elk

If it were me I'd go. We've had some weather just in the last 12 hours, I'm sure they won't be in the same spots, but they might not be far from there. Don't think there is a ranch that charges a "reasonable trespass fee". Go, hunt, have fun, fill some tags!!!!

    Broom Creek HMA?

I do not know much of anything about the HMA, but here is the local warden's info. Wheatland warden David Ellsworth (307)322-2067 Torrington warden Robert Hipp (307) 532-2433 Don't know for sure which one covers that area, but one of them does and they should be able to help you with general...

    WY BHA Work day

Alpine Lakes clean up day was a success! I would like to say thanks to all that use the area - we fortunately didn't find a lot of garbage. We cleaned up the Lost Lake Trail and the Golden Lake Trail, a total of 6 miles! We will be hiking out and cleaning up the Deep Lake/Twin Lakes Trail later...

    WY Cow Elk Hunt

Generally the month of September, there are a few that are start August 15th, but not many. Take a look at the leftover list and then look on mytopo.com to see how much public land there is. There are also type 4 tags left which are full price cow tags, but there are a few like in unit 11 that...

    Great backpacking tent

I guess if you just wanted to do summer/early fall yea a little if you take the whole thing, but when it's warm you don't have to use the whole tent you use about half the weight as a warmer weather tent. And most of the super lightweight tents out there are just that 3 season at best, or 3-4...

    Great backpacking tent

    WYBHA up coming work day

Thanks Jeff. It is a great group in that the people that are involved are actively involved and truly making a difference. I really look at BHA as a tool to gather and organize people to do effective projects that benefit the lands we all own.

Antelope unit 38? Why did they cut the tags?

Well that's what i get for not looking on the G&F website. I did notice that there appeared to be way more people that applied or took 2nd and 3rd choice options, because the draw odds in some areas looked pretty bleak compared to years past.

Antelope unit 38? Why did they cut the tags?

I think a lot more people in general applied in Wyoming this year with the later application dates enabling people to know what tags they did or didn't get any many other states. I don't know if the new tag numbers are completely right as they are now for unit 38, but the population from...

    NR Antelope Draw

I think that right now is the best time in recent years to get a B&C buck out of a lot of units. Mild winter, great moisture so far this year. I've been working on the road off and on the last 6 weeks and the bucks look really nice across all the areas in the state I've been.

    Unit 123 Elk

I was just on the lone tree ranch last week, and all I can say is wow. They get some monsters off from there. seven J is the outfitter that has the lease. Looks like it would be a good time. The lone tree ranch is 20 square miles, they got a pretty good area to cover.

I think I need to maybe clarify something about Wyoming BHA is a state chapter, the national organization is Backcountry Hunters & Anglers we have established chapters in 16 states and 2 Canadian providences. The reason it's broken down to the state level is it's easier to stay in touch with...
