All the units you mention can produce a good buck. Really depends on what kind of hunt you’re looking to get out of it.

Thanks for the responses. I will spend us much time as I possibly can. I drew Wyoming g tag as well this year and decided to with an outfitter there and my hunt is locked up in Wyoming from 9/15-9/19. Will probably get to Idaho by end of September.

I’m with Deercy, do it like Wyoming and get rid of the reissue process altogether. Once you draw a tag, it’s yours to hunt or nor hunt.

I would do your research before you put in. It takes way too many points for the quality of the hunt. I would recommend calling the biologist for that area. Feel free to PM me, I have spent quite a bit of time there.

They have a draw system in place and quotas in place for non residents on all units. Am I missing something as to why all the nonresidents can’t just be a random draw by unit? Seems like it would be easier for the hunters and the fish and game office.

I think a lot died of old age and a lot of younger ones were killed a long the way getting us to where we are at. Still some good ones out there and I think Colorado still produces more big bucks than any other state.
