    Water

Thanks for the replies. The filters that I've looked at say they dont remove viruses. T It seems that you have to use the pills or drops in order to remove viruses. What do you think the real threats are with this water source?

    Water

LAST EDITED ON Oct-04-18 AT 09:56PM (MST)[p]I haven't backpack hunted without packing in extra drinking water and its extremely heavy. This year I have a good running spring about 2 miles up the mountain and plan to camp nearby. How do you judge the source of the water and does it always need...

One last antelope hunt for Grandpa

I'm looking for suggestions on antelope landowner tags for 2018. I want to get my Grandpa out on one last hunt before he retires his boots. We have hunted Wyoming 4 times in the past but the draw odds aren't what they used to be in the units we know. Any help is appreciated.

    ook what I found!

Way to get it done on a general hunt. Great buck to be proud of.

    Saving Meat in the Heat

Our antelope hunts have typically been during hot weather. We aim to have the meat on ice within 1 hour of the animal expiring. The meat has always tasted great.

    Same Buck?

Hard to say. They look really similar. The back left fork definitely got deeper if it is the same buck. Perhaps the similarity just has to do with the genetics in the area.

Another nice typical. Close to 190"?

Really nice deer. I guess hes 175-180. I hope I can find one like that this year.

    What's this Books Buck Score..??

Pretty buck! Looks like he's missing the G4 on his right side. 148
  9. S

    How wide?

I think he will go over 30" outside when hes finished. Right now he looks to be 24" inside the main beams. Love the way his main beams turn and go up. He will score great!

    Scouting

I agree they should be in their summer range. I was at the very top of a local spot last week and found a good buck all the way on top. Another interesting fact is if you YouTube search "mule deer migration" you can find some tracking studies that show the deer moving up in late April and...

    Oquirrh-Stansbury Bucks

I recently moved to Tooele. My daughter and I have drawn this tag for the first time. We will do some summer scouting and hopefully turn something up. We're pretty excited about the late hunt dates. Unfortunately the summer scouting won't help us find the transition zones where you will...

    Vernon Muzzy Deer

Should be a fun hunt for you guys. Last year I saw mature bucks following does and sniffing the air alot earlier than I have witnessed in other areas. I believe this is the year to have a rifle tag out there because of the late hunt dates. Good Luck!

    >Had your buck hitting my camera >all summer long. Hit it >3 days before you killed >it I'd love to see the photos you got of him. I'd print them with your permission and hang them in the same room he is now.

    This year's hitlist

I am scouting and hunting an entirely new area this coming season. It's pretty close to my new house and consists of mainly foot access. I hope to be able to pattern some decent animals this year. In seasons past I have noticed that it usually takes 2-3 seasons before I really start to learn the...

    2015 Vernon

I was concerned with it being next to the back door as well. I made sure I hit a stud with a beefy 1/4" x 3" screw. I slam tested the door several times and it barely wiggles. Here's a field photo. There's another thread on here about Vernon that has a ton of field photos...

    2015 Vernon

I thought I would share a photo of my buck that I got back recently. The taxidermist put in some really nice work on this. Unfortunately the photos aren't the best.

    Kennecott Property

I recently moved to Tooele. About 30 years ago my Dad used to take me hunting with him on some private property on the foothills (not Kennecott land). Now I find myself looking at the mountain and wondering where the big bucks are hiding. I'm interested in spending a few days hiking around the...

    Kennecott Property

I just pulled up the Heaston east and am assuming this is the boundaries for the Kennecott property. If anybody has evidence of something different I'd appreciate the info. Thanks

A flat shooting gun with a turret style scope will get you off to a good start. From there it takes practice and getting to know your setup. I was actually shooting a 7mm Mag with a Nikon BDC reticle, and 150 grain Nosler Partitions. I only like to shoot out to 750 yds with this setup. I was...

    Colorado GMU 3/301

So what's the gameplan? Looks like there might be snow and should make for a good hunt. I've hunted just across the border in Utah before and have been interested in this unit myself. Keep us posted!

Let's see those vernon bucks II

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys. We were really happy with both of the trophies we were able to take. We had a lot of fun with friends and family at our camp. We spent mid day at camp eating the best food and target practicing between 200 and 1000 yds. There is plenty of cedar...
