My wife and had a fun hunt this past weekend . I harvested a 3x3 opening day and she passed up on one about the same size. Saw a monster driving in off the highway. We only hunted three days so who knows what would have happened had we stayed... Weather and roads were great while we were there...
One question (probably won't be the last) I have read a lot that a lot of roads are closed. I live in Albuquerque so I will initially do scouting online. But how can you tell what areas have limited access because of closed roads? Google maps looks like their are roads everywhere.

Congrats on your tag you have s better chance of the weather working out for you. I will PM you if I get some good info. I have some clients who live up there and used to work in the oil fields and will let you know if I get and help from them
After getting skunked last year on everything, my wife and I drew deer. Looking forward to a fun hunt this fall and hoping the weather cooperates. Anyone else get 2b for deer?
I hunted that area last year and got a cow in the canjillon area we say probably 20 or so cows in the few days we were there. You just got to get out of the truck and away from the roads. We saw a lot of hunters driving around but we say a lot deep in the woods. If you want some more specifics...
Just wondering if any of the elk hunters in 16 saw deer during their hunts. I scouted 16c and saw a bit of cows, no bulls but no deer either. Only scouted for a day, wondering if I should spread out to other areas of 16.
Got a hunt coming up for deer in unit 16, just wondering if any of you who hunted elk earlier saw any deer. The my tag covers all of 16, I was planning on 16c and 16e but any suggestions would be much appreciated.
