    300 RUM reloading question

My favorite load for two of the 300 RUMs I shoot is the 200 gr Accubond using Retumbo powder. My preference is shooting heavy bullets in big magnums, and especially at the speeds a RUM will produce. With 200 gr Accubonds my loads average 3200 fps and 3257 fps depending on the rifle. Retumbo...

Opinions on ELDX for mule deer?

LOL....Fortunately not using speculation within this thread was limited to animals that were lost/not recovered. Since the deer was in fact found dead I took the liberty to use this exception and speculated to the best of my ability.

Opinions on ELDX for mule deer?

My son shot a buck at 600 yards last weekend with a 143 ELDX out of a 6.5 PRC. Perfect lung shot. Buck ran about 20 yards and tipped over dead. Bullet exited, but one interesting thing was there were two exit holes when we skinned him out, one higher mid body and the other coming out through...

    Omega and Bullets

Barnes 250 gr TMZ with the blue sabots are what I shoot in my Omega with Blackhorn 209. I mainly use it for deer. If I were going after elk I would also give the 290's a try and then shoot whichever bullet shot the best.

I have a pair of the Leica HD-B's and have really liked them so far. Having binoculars, a range finder and ballistic calculator all in one unit works well for what I do.

    How long is meat good

My experience has been that game meat which is cut, wrapped in paper, and kept in a freezer that is NOT a "frost free" model will last a long time....multiple years. Cook it up and try it. If you don't like how it tastes the meat's headed for the trash anyway.

    Looking for help!

In my TC Omega I have been shooting 250 grain Barnes Spit Fire T-EZ's using 80 grains (measured by weight) of Blackhorn 209. Combination shoots well and I am able to to reload multiple shots before having to swab the barrel.

    Carcass Tags

We were checked last year and had the tag attached to the head. Officer explained that we had it wrong and asked that we move it from the head to a hind quarter. We moved it right then. They didn't make a big deal about but this year we made sure to do it right.
