Had a great time with our boys. We covered a lot of country and ended up finding a nice little spot on the 4th day that held some bucks. One really nice buck gave the our boys the slip. They both killed their bucks on day 5. Not trophies but they were happy. That’s what it’s all about.

Thanks DeerHunter53. Yes we saw lots of elk and many bulls. Saw 1 that was a real monster but couldn't get on him. He the was the lone bull with 50+ cows. Too many eyes and they headed into zones that were off limits to hunting. Couldn?t pass on my bull ... he was good enough.

They leave the base open on the weekdays for the elk hunters only during their hunt. 16 days. It was great. The whole place to only the 8 hunters.

Found him up on top at the north end of area 24 with 5 other bulls.

I want to thank all the guys here that gave me some great advice and tips on my earlier post on the Books Cliff area for my upcoming muzzy deer hunt. Making the 14 hr. drive over that way this week for a couple of days to get the "lay of the land". September can't come fast enough!!
