Unit 2 got crushed by the 2022/2023 winter. Cool country to hunt but not a great destination if you’re looking for a trophy mule deer. It will take a few years for the herds to recover in that part of the state.

I have heard from several people that these big money racks are usually bought back by the same people convicted of poaching them! It has supposedly gone on for years in other states at their auctions as well. Why are these people allowed to buy the animal they poached back?

I think the hybrid tags for the high demand elk units should only be available for people with 20 points not 5. Same with other hybrid tags if the hunt code takes 17 points the minimum to be entered into the hybrid draw should be 15 points etc.

Now that I look at the pics I'm sure it is the same deer as I thought. The one we were watching had a big drop tine. Don't know if you guys seen the same buck or not.

We hunted that big drop tine buck in that same area all season. We almost sealed the deal on him but he slipped away. It is cool that somebody got pictures of him. A few mornings we watched you drive past him within a 75 yards of where he was bedded down on the private. Nice bucks though.
