Tikka, thanks for the info and I look forward to talking to you more about Utah and AZ.
Sherlock, thanks for the advice. Definatly looks like some steep country! Training has already started. And being a backpack hunter from AZ I know how critical water is in areas where it is limited!
Thieves suck, I hope you get that buck back!
I have drawn the general hunt for this unit. Can anyone give very general info about it? I assume it is crowded, but are there decent bucks to be had? Not afraid to pack in and stay a while if you can get away. So what is hunt like?
Thanks ahead of...
So AZGFD with our tax, licence and tag etc money is going to pay for enforcement of private property rules that dont exsist anywhere else in the state to enhance and protect a private entities pocketbook all in the name of access to PUBLICLY owned wildlife that spend a good chunk of time on...
There isn't a OTC pig hunt. You have to draw. 18b, 17b 17a, 20c,20b, 21, 22, 19a, 6a, 23, are all good units for pigs There are good units down south but its a lot farther to go from Nevada. Good luck
Don, I blanked but all i put in for was points. Thought we were going to be busy and we are! full boat of elk hunters! I will be pretty much living in 10 once July hits so it wont be a big deal to pick up some trash on the cleanest ranch in az! See you there amigo!
Oh yea, Me and the kids went...
SB is right about not to scale.... The maps are for AZGFD waters only. There are other waters from BLM and USFS that are out there but they will not be on the AZGFD map. I think it is worth the $35 it costs.... Try getting waters from USFS or BLM... good luck..I have tried and it seems no one...
There are a few in the lower parts of the canyon and then towards camp verde. For quality deer look elsewhere unless you want to hunt coues deer.... Then its a whole other story!
LAST EDITED ON Mar-21-12 AT 07:19PM (MST)[p]MIKES OUTFITTING LTD.... He is in alberta. I pig hunted with him in az once. Hell of a nice guy and a hell of a bowhunter!!! Kills some fantastic bucks!!! mikesoutfitting.com
It may sound weird but I cremate all my dogs and when i go they all will get spread out with me...... Nothing in this world is as loyal as a dog.... And not much is harder to loose.... Condolences man........
I rarely post on the campfire, I just read for entertainment of some of the stupid crap y'all say. But if this guy comes on here and says he has a potentially serious medical problem and you guys talk the s**t you guys do and has any real meaning behind it then you guys trully are...
Az strip buck killed in 08. 5 1/2 years old verified by AZGFD. Born in one of the worst drought years ever, which was backed up by his body size (smaller than normal). Obviously he rebounded when it comes to antlers??? (or what could he have been)
You are very correct! Almost..... Any TUNED bow can shoot ALMOST any broadhead... Some broadheads are junk! That why I shoot wac'em or slick trick 4-blades!!! Just screw em on and shoot em!!! They group with my fieldpoints all the way to 80yds. And make two nice holes in everything I've hit...
I came up with an idea for a hunting related product and there is nothing on the market like it that i can find. I was wondering if there is anyone here that has ever brought an idea to an actual product? The idea is electronic in nature. Any thoughts or advice??
Thanks guys
Look at the dates from last year. The dates wont be the same but the weeks will. All hunts start on fri. So if the early hunt started on the last fri of oct it will again this year..Typically..
Buzz, Absolutely thank you to all the NR that helped out with any and all efforts!! It was huge and successfull!!
John, Thats what really stinks about it, I too really had alot of respect for both of these guys! A ton to be exact. They have been amazing in the past with spearheading all kinds...
Congrats to all of us in AZ that wrote emails and made a few calls to help stop this!!!!! Great JOB!!!!!
Now the AZSFW can go back under the rock they crawled out from under!!!!!!
Now.... Maybe a boycott of some of the guys that own companies that sell hunting gear and sell magazines to...
I started "brainwashing" them early on. Its also part of everyday life with me as I guide and in the woods nearly year round. I bought them toy bows and have them shoot with me at 3-d shoots and in the back yard. They bring their bb guns everywhere and now at 8 and 6 no how to handle guns safer...
The reason for the season I like but I cant stand all the BS. But now that I have two little ones it has changed me somewhat. they have too much fun and it is contagious....
My guess why he left was probably because of the eastmans!! Being around them for more than five mins would be all I could take! Soooo much arrogance and cockyness... They are good hunters.. just ask em and they will tell ya how good. I cancelled my subscription because of them and they have a...
I knew I knew that bull!! Got some decent video of him! We passed him twice during the hunt. The broke bull one of our guys was not that one, he was a mid 30s type if we wasnt broke. I'd seen the bull you are talking about only once and that was before the hunt You shot on the last day right...
George, Hey man its Eric, we shared camp up in 12b early a couple years back. Congrats on a great bull! And congrats on the engagement. What unit were you in cause that bull actually looks familiar. We were in 10 and went 8 for 9. 375 was our best along with 2 350s and a 320 on the last day...

+1 on the tomato juice. It was the only thing i could find when my lab got skunked. Get a ton if it. I put him him the bath and soaked him in it for a while. The funny thing was, like all labs, he wanted to drink it all... and I mean all of it!! But it did work...
Thanks for the replies guys. I currently have the sprint pro as well and its ok but a bit noisy. The outdoorsmans tripod is out. I had one for one season and got rid of it quickly. It is light but other than that I couldnt find one thing about it I liked. Extremely noisy and a little dirt gumms...
I hear ya on the power issue. I currently have a dodge 4 door diesel. Power is awesome but it costs way too much to keep it on the road. Between death wobble, various oil leaks, transmision issues and all kinds of little things in the cab that seem to fall apart, I just cant afford it anymore...
Great info guys I really appreciate it. I was thinking of putting a 2" level kit and bags in the back for more clearance and for towing. I have heard that putting a cold air intake will boost milage by about 3 per gallon. Any truth?
Any more advice, even bad, is welcome..
Thanks
Eric
Ok so after owning ford chevy and dodge trucks, I am considering buying a Toyota tundra with the 5.7 and 4 doors but not the extracrew cab. Can you guys give me any advice on them? Are they tough? I am hard on a truck. What kind of REAL miliage are you getting with what size tires? Any mods? ect...
