I see there is no any weapon deer hunts for 033 this year. I know a person who had an outfitter tag there last year, and was told to cancel the tag. I didn't know it was that bad. I hope the antelope are doing OK.

Thanks for input, I have that on my list as things to consider. Too light with a magnum could be painful. Some models come with a raised check piece type stock, which may help some. But what goes to the shoulder is reality. I guess I want the cake and eat it too.

Yes, quite a few. Both dead and alive. Some days we would see more elk than deer. It looked to us that the elk hunters were doing OK.

I agree with your point.It's no good when you have to much of a load all the way back. I also have the X2 pack. Hopefully I can keep it forward and somewhat centered between the side storage bags, and balance it out with water or a spotting scope.

Has anyone used the side scabbard from Eberlestock that fastens to the side of the pack. Do they work well or are they just an anchor to drag around? Eberlestock also said I need the sniper scabbard for a rife with a bipod. I hope it wouldn't be to sloppy.I perfer a tight fit. No dealers here...
